In the aftermath of the war with the Governor, we see Rick and the group of survivors fostering a thriving community in the safe haven of the prison. Sadly, in this brutal world, happiness is short-lived and walkers are no match for a greater dangers brewing inside the fences. The group's home and new way of life will be thoroughly tested, and they will find themselves prepared to do whatever it takes to survive. Contains all 16 episodes from Season 4, plus over an hour of audio commentaries, deleted scenes and featurettes. Item comes in plastic case. Review: Continues to stroll along at an excellent pace - This show continues to get better and better. This season starts off months after Season 3 and the survivors have been living in peace at the prison. Unfortunately a fast acting flu type sickness spreads the prison killing most of the newcomers and extras. Its not long until only a handful are still fit enough to arm up against the Governor who returns seeking both revenge and the sanctuary of the prison with more recruitments to his army. I personally felt that episode 8 of this season should have been the Season 3 finale with the Governor finally beaten. It felt like an unwanted intrusion in season 4. The sickness storyline was more than enough for Rick's group to handle. As another reviewer mentioned the deaths continue and sometimes it a shame to see long standing characters bite the dust especially characters that still have potential but it does get tiresome losing familar faces for newbies all the time. There are some great episodes like Carol centric episode "The Grove" and some fantastic set pieces such as the zombies dropping from the roof of the shopping centre in the opening episode. The back episodes of this season are more character based. Having escaped the rubble of the prison the survivors have all been split up into groups and each episode focuses on each group. Some characters such as Bob and Beth are finally given some development. The finale sees some of these groups come together at Terminus which isn't exactly what they think it will be.... The DVD is packed with extras including interviews, featurettes and commentary tracks on selected episodes (Some of the cast are involved in these - Hershal, Beth, Darryl, Carol and Tyreese). All in all ths is an excellent package and well worth the price. Review: Fear The Dead, Fight The Living (No Spoilers) - This is one of the best seasons of The Walking Dead so far with many new characters and lots of action despite a relatively slow start. Season 4 opens with Rick and the gang living at the prison and battling a host of problems from the undead to betrayal. The producers of the show have outdone themselves as the walkers are somehow scarier and more gruesome with some real 'hold-your-breath' moments amidst the character development and new faces. The mid-season finale Ep.8 'Too Far Gone' and haunting Ep.14 'The Grove' are particular highlights this season with an intriguing cliffhanger in the final episode. Overall, The Walking Dead is a superb series with a good balance of unexpected twists and action with characters you can't help but root for as they battle the constant fear of the dead and the living. Additional note: At the time of writing, the 'download per episode' situation on desertcart Instant Video is due to this season currently airing on UK Channel 5 (5*) so desertcart is matching their schedule of two episodes per week. While it is quite expensive per episode it is a good way to avoid those annoying TV adverts and it's suitable for those wanting to catch up or re-watch ahead of the DVD release on 29th September 2014.

Welcome to Terminus
Picking up where season 3 left off, with Rick and the other survivours trying to build a new life for themselves in the prison after escaping from the Governor. But sadly their peace and safe haven proves to be short lived as they find themselves on the run once again and separated. One of the bleakest shows on television is back and as good as ever. Yes it can be slow and if you are expecting zombie attacks every 5 minutes you might be in for a disappointment as this is more of a survival drama. In fact, interestingly for a show about zombies, the z word is not mentioned once in the series with the creatures being called Walkers and these are the traditionally slow moving zombies that kill, are horrible to look at and are definitely not interested in dating you only eating you. Don't get too attached to any characters in this series as no character is safe and anyone can get killed at any time and more new characters join the regulars in the second half of the season leading to what they hope is another safe haven called Terminus. Slow, but gripping and tense with excellent performances with some human characters who can be just as horrific as the Walkers and not a show for the squeamish, leading into a tense cliffhanger setting up season 5.

Brilliant!!!
Brilliant...as I already knew from seeing it on TV! Just rewatched it all from season 1-5 (5 recorded) and it is a series that continues to grow and excite with numerous curve balls. Watching Rick de-evolve as he adapts to every situation is a funfair ride in itself. Carol just continues to grow in my estimation and come the zombie apocalypse I may well be standing behind her and not Daryl (cannot believe I just said that but season 5 cements it). I do NOT like zombie movies and horror films and used to tell my son off for watching such rubbish but it is so much more than a cheap horror trip. The start credits in themselves are quality, each episode is like a mini; well budgeted, film and you feel like you know the characters as friends...or people you don't like (plenty of those; glad to see the back of Lori and Beth (just annoying) and Noah was a light weight who I blame for the loss of Tyreese (he may have been faltering but he was a solid geezer)...and the people at Terminus and those bad blokes that Daryl got picked up by....wow, Rick protecting his family against them....I was not expecting THAT!). Just watch it....get all the seasons and watch them before season 6 starts...you will not be disappointed.

What is there to say about a DVD except to say love the WD Series. If your a zombie movie freak then buy them all, it's the best zombie movies out there, nothing compares to it.
