It does well at providing a secure, stable workspace when you prefer to work comfortably from a hotel bed rather than using an uncomfortable desk and chair. While the ambidextrous dual retractable mouse pad is a useful feature for both left and right-handed users, the most impressive aspect is the overall stability and surface quality. The surface allows the mouse to track perfectly without needing a separate pad. Furthermore, the design is robust—placing my hand on the retractable tray does not cause the laptop desk to tilt NOR does feel flimsy like it will break. Believe me I did apply more than simple force to it. Beyond the excellent functionality, the Laptop Lap Desk itself is sturdy yet lightweight, making it genuinely portable and easy to slip into a backpack or laptop bag. If you are seeking a simple, ergonomic, and highly functional lap desk that delivers reliable stability, this is an outstanding choice.

Usually I sit at my desk and complete work. After surgery, I haven't been able to sit at my desk. The AboveTEK Portable Laptop Lap Desk with Retractable Left and Right Mouse Pad Tray has changed my situation so that I can work from anywhere. Let me explain. I was hesitant initially because I thought, "My laptop has a flat bottom. How can having a flat platform keep the laptop on my lap?" I was wrong to question this product. It is well thought out and very well engineered. On top it has two separate non-slip sections that cover approximately 70 % of the surface. These are critical to a lap desk because they keep my laptop from sliding when I shift positions while it is on my lap. On the bottom there are two non skid strips along the longest edges. These keep the lap desk in place when it is place on a different surface. This is to keep the lap desk from sliding as it is constructed using a pretty hardy plastic. The surface has kept my laptop much cooler than being directly on my lap. I am using a 14 inch Apple MacBook Pro and it fits on the lap desk with a small bit of room in the front and a little more room on the sides to spare. That means that if you have a lap top larger than the one I am using, it will fit on this lap desk. The sliding mouse pad is my personal favorite feature. I am right handed. I always use my mouse when I am working and used to have the struggle of finding a surface to place my laptop then a surface for the mouse. The mouse pad is in the desk. You never have to worry about not having a place for your mouse again. It slides out to one side at a time so it is not a double mouse pad, meaning it cannot be extended to the left and the right at the same time. With it extended to one side, the opposite sides has a minor increase in flexibility of the plastic meaning I can pinch the top and bottom together and they flex inwards just a bit in the space where the retracted mouse pad would be which I feel is normal. I also think this design helps with keeping the lap top cool. Harder, more dense surfaces allow heat to be retained. The way this lap desk is engineered allows there to be air where the mouse pad would be so it can cool off faster. You also do not have to use the mouse pad if you do not want to. I want to add that while it is a mouse pad, it is sturdy enough to hold a small glass of water as well. It is not flimsy and does not bow under the weight of the small glass. The mouse pad surface is not rubbery. It is made of a hard, matte plastic meaning you can use your mouse without a mouse pad directly on this surface. My mouse glides effortlessly. The mouse pad is also large enough for me to move my mouse cursor across the entire face of the screen without having to lift the mouse and replace it. The mouse pad has an ever so slightly raised edge. It is not enough to keep the mouse on the mouse pad if you lean to far. The mouse will slip off. The lap desk is not a cheaply made product although I would consider handling it with care. I feel like with any hard plastic items, even items that cost hundreds of dollars, they will break if handled roughly or without consideration. With that, I believe this lap desk will serve my needs for years to come. It will help me in tight spots and I realize I don't have to be the one to sit at a table to work now. I have my AboveTEK lap desk. My rating: 9.5/10 The only improvement I can think of is to make the matte mouse pad have grip so that the mouse doesn't slip off easily. How can I change that? Add my own mouse pad to the platform. This minor critique in no way changes my mind about how useful this lap desk is. I would purchase it over again and again. I would even gift this to a college student.

This laptop desk is EXACTLY what I was looking for to keep my 13 inch creator's laptop stable on my lap and to allow proper cooling. My laptop's processor generates considerable heat. Good, simple construction, with an effective no-skid pad for the laptop I liked especially the slide out out mouse tray which works witheither a left or right-handed mouse and is built with a slightly raised edge that keeps the mouse fr falling off. This edge could be just a bit higher, but it's very effective as is Nothing to plug in or set up. This laptop desk fits very easily into the laptop bag.

[Build] This lap-pad is built sturdy. The quality feels nice especially around the rubber pads. [Size] Extremely portable. I was looking for something to bring along with my ultra book in a bag for train use, and this Lap-pad is extremely useful. For referecne, my ultrabook is 13.3 inches. I was also surprised that it managed to also fit my 16 inch bulky gaming laptops. [Mouse Pad] Perhaps the weakest link of this lap-pad was the mouse-pad. It slides out very easy, and its a great size, however its too smooth, so if your mouse doesn't have rubber feet, it ends up sliding everywhere when you go to type something on your laptop. I wish it was made out of a less smooth material. [Conclusion] Overall, this lap-pad is built great, has a great size that fits up to 16 inch laptops, and is very lightweight. However, the biggest thing holding it back is the material used for the mousepad, despite this downside I would definitely still buy again. Update: I've modified the mousepad and added thin grip tape. This simple modification still allows the mousepad to slide out, but also keeps my mouse steady. This brings the product up to 5 stars. However. Im keeping it at 4 since I believe this should have been considered.

It's simple, it works, it's not overly huge, and it's decently- to well-built. My laptop (a Macbook Pro 14") fits on it perfectly and feels very comfortably stable on it due to the rubber. I will legitimately be using this for years to come.

This portable lap desk has been the perfect fit for my 13” surface pro laptop and for use in the car, airport, couch & pretty much anywhere I need to use my laptop and mouse. It is well made but light weight, stays put on my lap. To date this is the most comfortable laptop lap desk to date. My mouse works perfectly on the mouse pad. It has retractable mouse pads on both the left and right sides which is great for my notebook to sit on the left side and my mouse on the right side.

Great item really fits my intended use. Product is durable, and I expect to get a lot of years of use from it.

出張での現場仕事（デスクを与えられずフィールドに椅子だけ）で14インチのノートＰＣとトラックボールだけで2営業日に渡って資料書き。70Pほどの資料をこの膝上テーブルだけで書きました。テキストだけでなく図も多数。程よい重さと剛性、表面処理でノートＰＣもトラックボールも滑り落ちることなく利用できます。 それにお盆のようにノートＰＣ一式を何か台になるようなもの（例えば段ボールとか）にさっとまとめて置いて、他の調べものをしたり配線作業をしたりと普通だったらばらばらになってしまうから液晶を閉じてその上にトラックボールだったりペンだったりをのっけて対処し、またＰＣを使うとなったら上にのっかっているものをどかして画面を開いて・・・という作業をすることなく、すぐに作業復帰できるので快適でした。 ちょっと重さがあるので荷物的には重量が気になるところはありますが、マウスパッド部を左右に引き出せる構造や、この剛性の高さを考えると致し方が無いし、むしろ重さが無いと膝上で安定しないのでは？と思います。鞄の中に入れても仕切り板として鞄そのものの形状を維持できるし、ノートＰＣの画面天板側の保護もできそうだしこれは出張作業のときに手放せない逸品になりそうです。

Very useful piece of equipment when you prefer to use a mouse and are limited for space as it gives you an extra little desk bit which is very useful for your mouse. A sturdy bit of kit and very comfortable .All in all good value for money.
