Classic Toddler Bed, Walnut

Yes, this toddler bed is pricey. Primarily because it's chic and eco-friendly. But there were more important reasons we decided to try it out: (1) the side rails come up high enough to be safe (some toddler beds have side rails that barely come up 2-3 inches over the mattress) yet not so high that it felt like a crib (some toddler beds are more like day beds or converted cribs - what's the point of "transitioning" a child into that?), (2) we liked that it had solid wood for the base/foundation, (3) we liked that the foot of the bed had just a few inches of side rail just in case we needed it at the early stages of the transition, and (4) of course, we liked the way it looked.We LOVE the bed. And so does our son. Putting it together was easy (a one-person job). It's sturdy, safe, and gorgeous. And the side rails are perfect... my son is a side and stomach sleeper, so on the occasion he rolls to sleep on his side, he's safe from rolling out of the bed but is still learning the boundaries necessary to sleep in a bed.Transition was smooth - took down the crib one morning, had the bed up and ready in time for the afternoon nap and he never looked back. I know I can't credit the bed for that easy transition, but he does love the bed.

There is absolutely no reason to spend a ridiculous amount of money on this product. I got one for my daughter because I thought there would be something special about it, or that it was safer. There was not really any difference between it and the one my sister got for her daughter for $60.00. My husband gave me grief for getting a yuppie bed, and I have to side with him on this one now. It is completely a yuppie bed. There's no other reason to buy it than as a status symbol that our kid isn't gonna remember or even care about. Therefore we sent the yupster bed back to Yupsterland and just got the $60.00 one. We used the extra money to get our daughter a zoo pass and membership at the bounce house which she loves more than a bed.For functionality I would give it a 4... because... well it's a bed and kids can sleep on itFor value I give it a 1... because... well it's a bed that doesn't do anything that a $60.00 bed can't and it costs 10 times more.

My wife wanted this so we got it. It is a pricey bed. It looks good but I don't know if that justifies the price. Functionality wise, it works well. My son loves it. But it is a bit high off the ground and he has fallen off once when he stood up. Now we have a king size pillow on the head part and it is working fine. He still bangs his head because he spins around so we put blankets on the side. All in all I like it better than our Stokke crib since it's bigger but don't know if this is that much better than any regular cheaper toddler bed.

Great bed, very sturdy, great build and easy to assemble. Great design, and our kid loves it. No creaking or wobbling.

We needed a toddler bed for the two year old so that his baby sister could use his crib. As soon as this new bed delivered, he jumped onto it and loved it right away! And it is beautiful and well made.
