I bought this to use with my Bayou Classic 14qt cooker, mostly for deep frying outside. What can I say? It works! My only complaint is the angle of the clamp means the bottom of the probe sticks out into the pot and makes it challenging to use the basket that came with the cooker. The majority of the time, I just skip the basket and pull everything out with a spider. You also need to be careful how you store it. My first one got caught in the drawer and I bent the probe trying to open the drawer.

Amazing, works exactly as expected. Used it for boiling sap to maple syrup. For finer temps or lower discretionary purposes I’d get a digital or bigger face. I would recommend this.
