Logitech G600 MMO USB Gaming Mouse - Black

I previously reviewed this mouse when I purchased one of the first batch a year or two back; there is of course a reason why I've now purchased the latest revision but I will come on to that later. The basic gist of the original review was that if you have very small hands you should get the Naga. If you like a larger mouse then you want this. This is by far the bulkiest mouse I have ever owned although I do find it comfortable. You do get used to it as the Naga feels too small when you go back to it. I originally switched from the Naga to a G600 because I prefer the location of mouse button 4 (click the wheel to the side) on this mouse versus the original Naga where it was in an awkward and uncomfortable position. That was an big issue for me as I use button 4 a lot when healing in WoW. Also the thumb buttons on the G600 are angled so you can better distinguish them. It is worth saying that on both the Naga and the G600 I only use the forward most 6 of the thumb buttons, I don't think it is realistic to play games with all 12 at all. You would get terrible RSI. As it is I tend to use the thumb buttons for spells that have cooldowns as opposed to those spells that you spam constantly. I note that the latest model of the Naga appears to address those concerns so I can wholeheartedly recommend the new Naga or the G600 depending on your size preferences. I personally found the Naga software a bit problematic and buggy back in the day whereas I have no such trouble with the Logitech software. It could be that the Naga software has now been fixed of course. The Logitech software allows easy customisation of the buttons, sensitivity and the lighting on the side - this allowed me to match the mouse lighting with the colour of the lighting on my Logitech keyboard. You can also save your settings on the G600's inbuilt memory so you can un-install the software afterwards or not bother installing it all next time you format your HDD. This is a major bonus as I hate having all sorts of peripheral software on my system, taking up space on the SSD and slowing down start-up times etc. IIRC my Naga a few years back saved its settings in the cloud and you had to keep their software installed or it would revert back to defaults? I could be mistaken of course but that is how I remember it along with a number of bugs and error messages every time you booted up. Hence I have fonder memories of the smoother Logitech software experience. The original G600 also had a major problem that has now been fixed. The first batch that I owned had a fatal flaw. When rapidly clicking the buttons (in a game like Diablo) the mouse cursor could jump up or down the screen. This is not to be confused with a very similar bug that occurred with Windows 8.1 by the way. This could also happen in first person games like Minecraft or Titanfall when clicking rapidly. Many a time I died because of that annoying and inexcusable bug and I plugged my old Naga back in and found that it was definitely the G600 at fault. I Googled it and found that it was a problem with the earlier models and they couldn't be fixed as the first batch didn't allow the updating of firmware via USB. I can confirm that this new model that I purchased a couple of days before writing this review is fixed and works perfectly. I did update the firmware via the Logitech software which was a quick and painless process. So now that the problem is fixed I can go back to enjoying my G600 although I am a little annoyed at Logitech allowing such a terrible bug to occur in what was a £60 mouse. I also had problems with the mouse wheel getting squeaky over time with my old G600. I squirted a tiny drop of WD40 down inside the wheel which solved the squeak but also caused the wheel to slip or something as it wouldn't always work. After a few days it dried out and functioned perfectly and quietly from then on although I am not sure I'd risk it again! So yeah I've been using the G600 for a year or two now and despite a bug with the original model you can see that I have put my money where my mouth is and purchased another one. You don't get a stronger recommendation than that.

As a previous owner of several razer naga MMO mice, I'd had enough of having to replace them when they died over and over, so I went for a different brand. I bought my Logitech G600 a good couple of years ago, and have since bought another for my husband to use. I was pleasantly surprised, having had the afore mentioned brand dying after 3-9 months, on a few occasions - my two year old G600 is still running as well as the day I purchased it. Now, for a technophobe that loves gaming, this is a lovely piece of kit. Easy to start using, and I found it easy to modify the keys to what I wanted them to be. My personal preference is to use the top 3 as modifier keys ctrl/alt/shift, to stop all that painful keyboard reaching as my healer character has an awful lot of keybinds to use. The others were set up in various ways, with more commonly used skills on the easier to reach buttons. I found once I got used to an MMO mouse, my performance in raids was much smoother, and my reaction time very much quicker - however, I don't advise that you go into a difficult raid with this until you've got used to handling it. It takes a few hours usage to become comfortable with it, but is well worth the effort in the end. I find it sits well in the hand, and it's rare for me to get hand strain even though I have been known to game for many hours straight when I've had the time to do so. Someone with larger hands MAY find it tougher to negotiate the buttons, One problem I do have with this mouse - but that I also had with the naga - the buttons can get quite dirty and it's a pain to clean them - but that's the only downside. All in all it's a solid, reliably good mouse that once mastered really improves your gaming experience. Oh and, for any Gamer girls out there - your nails won't get in the way at all! (got to get the really important stuff in here, right?)

Having used the Razor Naga for 6 years and love them I decided to give this a go as reviews suggested it didn’t have the niggles I had with Razors offering and it was much cheaper. I was expecting to take a week or two at least to get use to it after such a long time with the Naga but found within an hour I was comfortable with it and by the next day it felt totally natural. Overall I find it a superior MMO gaming mouse though it suits all types of games from BF4 to Space Engineers better than any other type imo,. The side buttons are further forward and as such those at the rear are easy to get too where as with the Naga it was uncomfortable and I would sometimes have to momentarily adjust my grip to reach. The buttons are also all different shapes and angles allowing for instant recognition in the heat of the moment. They also require just the right amount of pressure to activate which is also very welcome as it’s a fine line between the point where they are too easy to accidentally press or require too much force causing side way movement. The build and feel of the mouse as a whole seems of a very high standard, quality finish with what feels and sounds like good quality gaming switches as well as a smooth glide and very responsive movement. Defiantly have a new favourite mouse and may buy a second as a spare for that inevitable day when I’ll need to replace this one after a HUGE amount of use.

Bought another one of these after needing a new work mouse. I've had my original one for over 8 years, and it's still the best mouse I've owned. Having the third mouse button makes is a bit wider than a regular mouse, but once you get used to it, the extra width is really comfortable. The customization is ok (better if you know how to use autohotkey). You can modify the keypad to be any keyboard key, and do basic custom commands like ctrl+4. The only downside is that you can't record and store proper complex macros. One other thing is that this is a newer design. It doesn't have a braided fabric cable like it used to. Instead, it's now a rubbery/plastic type. The keypad buttons also have a grippy texture to them now, where they used to be smooth. It's also got that horrible new Logitech "gamer" logo. Only slight changes, that don't really effect how the mouse performs, but you don't see them in any images here. Edit: 10 years since my first G600 Just completed a switch replacement on my first G600 as the left mouse button started to double click. It was a quick and easy soldering job. Replaced all original switches and it feels like new again. Hopefully it'll last me another 10 years before I have to do it again. Still the perfect mouse.

I’ve had a few MMO gaming mice and this is my second (after the last one gave up after 3 years). Tried others but none of them came even close as far as ease of customisation. The G-shift button is a god send and allows you to shift tab without fumbling around on the keyboard. The Logitech G hub is straight forward and intuitive to assign key binds and macros. And is, in my humble opinion streets ahead of some other branded software I have used. 10/10 for ease of use. I have quite big hands and the mouse is perfectly sized for me as it’s on the larger size. It’s a very accurate mouse with easy DPI switching via 2 buttons below the scroll wheel which is also customisable. Light sync is a nice little feature that allows you to customise lighting effects and cycles. If I had one criticism it would be that a quality braided cable would have been nice given the price. But it’s not a dealbreaker as the entire package is fairly sturdy.

This is the 3rd one of these we bought. This was bought to replace two that had suddenly gone very, very slow and the buttons didn't work. When this arrived, the first thing I noticed is that the cable is no longer braided (on the other two it was - and the photos on this page show a braided cable as well). I've since discovered that these mice have an issue many people have found which is the on-board memory randomly wipes and leaves the mouse in the slow/no-click state. If you find the right version of the GHub software (note: NOT the older Logitech Gaming Software - and not necessarly the latest version of GHub, various logitech sites have different versions which makes it hit and miss) you can reset the on-board profiles and the mouse will become functional again. Note that you'll need to connect another mouse to do this, since the G600 will be non-functional until it's reset. The other thing to change is that the the raised rear-most central button is set by default to switch between on-board profiles and on-computer profiles, so if the memory gets corrupted and you accidentally use that button... it switches to a wiped memory. That's how ours became non-functional. I find it safest to remap that button to something else and use the computer-based profiles (which means the software must be installed... or the mouse will be non-functional, sigh). So now we have 3 working mice, 1 new and unwanted with a non-braided cable, which is a weak point, when it folds it will break internally, whereas braided won't break. It's good as a mouse in MMOs, although the edges of the side butons have a slightly sharp edge which hurts your fingertips as a session goes on for an hour or two. Also, the LGS and GHub software won't play together, you need to close one and reboot before the other will detect the mouse. LGS (older) is better for changing colours and many things, but GHub is needed to reset memory. Logitech really should get a newer decent software out to solve these issues.

The one thing that makes this a 4 not a 5 star mouse is the weight. It's very heavy and as the sides are not concave it tends to slip out of my hand when I lift the mouse. It's an easy fix but one that I shouldn't have to make. My G502 (Still the best mouse I've ever used) has a detachable base where you can add remove the weights to your liking. This one though you have to remove the anti-slip pads, 4 screws and then one or both of the large metal weights inside. I found removing one was fine and made the mouse much more usable. It's a pity I have to void my warranty(?) to fix this. Otherwise it's a great bit of tech. I use it in a few game but mostly I have it for working in 3D modeling software. IT's accurate and smooth. The 3rd finger button took some getting used to but it works well when you get the hang of it. The thumb buttons are very good. Relatively easy to find what button to press without looking and hard enough to activate that you don't press them when lifting the mouse (after removing 1 or 2 weights) RGB meh! Same old same. I don't care for it but it's there and works. The Logitech gaming software for configuring it is capable though missing some UI tweaks I'd like. There's no dedicated forward/back button but you can map any of the buttons to that function. I use their default left and right on the mouse wheel and find it works well. Again after some getting used to. 4.5 stars really. I like it!

Although a little large for my hand (Logitech please make one for women's sized hands!) this mouse has revolutionised my game play. The software is very easy to use and if you have another logitech device it will just attach the mouse to its software without further installation. I use this mouse to play a number of MMO's including Black Desert and World of Warcraft. This mouse is made from material that feels comfortable, is about the size of a duck egg. All the thumbset keys are individually molded into different shapes, this really helps identify which of the keys you are pressing whilst you get used to using it. The wheel is wonderfully smooth totally silent and has a flip ability left to right.Initially the extra button on the right is set to use the key that allows you to switch to the alternative keybind set in the relevant game profile. At first I disabled this key as the mouse did seem particularly difficult to use due to the substantial differences between the size of my standard mouse and this one. Now several months on I use it all the time and wonder how I ever managed without the utility! The build is of a good quality. I did have a problem finding a mousemat that worked well with it. Worst decision to buy this piece of crap. The bindings constantly reset, even within minutes. Complete garbage and worse than useless if the bindings reset at a critical point playing a game or arena match in WoW. Couldn't get the much-vaunted g-shift button to work, making that selling point completely worthless. Take my advice and look for something else.

Ich nutze dieses Modell seit bestimmt 10 Jahren, wenn nicht länger. Vor einigen Jahren ging mal mir mal eine "kaputt", sie hat nicht mehr richtig gescrollt. Nachdem ich bereits Ersatz gekauft hatte, stellte sich beim Aufschrauben heraus, dass sie nur mit Staub zugesetzt war und das Mausrad nicht mehr richtig abgetastet werden konnte. Nach der Säuberung ging sie wieder und dient mir jetzt als Maus für unterwegs. Langlebig, super Design, für mich eine der besten Mäuse auf dem Markt. Gibt es, soweit ich weiß, nur Kabelgebunden, aber Akkubetrieb brauche ich nicht. Die Tasten an der Seite sind zahlreich und lassen sich mit allem Möglichen Belegen (Desktop wechseln, Browsertab wechseln oder schließen, ...). Selbst die hintersten Tasten lassen sich mit dem Dauem gut erreichen und durch die Form der Tasten weiß man mit dem Daumen auch immer genau, wo man gerade drückt. Einziges Manko ist der Logitech GHub, der mittlerweile die Logitech Gaming Software abgelöst hat. Keine Ahnung, ob das Mausmodell so alt ist, dass der GHub nicht mehr alle Funktionen mit dem internem Speicher etc. unterstützt, aber die Programmierung damit ist ein absoluter Krampf. Eigene Makros aufzuzeichen und auf dem internen Speicher abzulegen ein Ding der Unmöglichkeit. Habe in einer VM noch die Logitech Gaming Software installiert und bearbeite damit die internen Profile, damit die Maus für mich auch unter Linux funktioniert.

Ho deciso di acquistare questo mouse perché, tra i tanti esistenti, è quello che mi ha dato il miglior feeling. Per la mia mano piccola è uno dei pochi che riesco a utilizzare, i concorrenti son tutti più grandi. Ottimo il raggiungimento dei tasti laterali, essenziali per giochi come World of Warcraft. Materiali plastici ma ben resistenti, il mouse risulta bello compatto. Il software Logitech GHub permette di gestire ogni singola funzione del mouse. Facile da installare e da configurare. Il mouse risulta fuori produzione, ma non esiterei a ricomprarlo.

Great mouse for your MMO needs, just gets dirty a bit easily.

Love this mouse! Honestly the best mmo mouse out there. Been using for months without issues and my last one was going strong for 8 years before button failure.
