12V DC UV Ballast 12W-16W

I rarely write reviews but this ballast is absolute garbage. I bought one to power a 12W UV lamp and it burned out within an hour. I mistakenly ordered a second one hoping I simply got a defective unit and the second one also burned out within the hour. Same bulb has now been powered by competitors ballast for several weeks. My mistake for going cheap.

Needed it to replace a failed UV lamp ballast. It lets you know when a bulb is bad with its alarm. Works great with my Biozone 2000 model with the 7" bulb.

Three stars because their customer service is good. The ballasts were being used on a Realgoal 1GPM 12W UV light. I had two of these fail, the 1st one failed post the 30 day return period. I had a 1.5 amp fuse on the circuit and it was still good. I emailed the company and they refunded my money, now that is good customer service. I then bought a 2nd one, it failed in just two days, this kept blowing every fuse I put in. I figure the 1st one failed open and the 2nd one failed close. I still had the 1st one so I took it apart and sure enough you can see where it failed open, see the pictures. Well at least I now have a plug that I can use on a very high end ballast like an "Atlantic UV 10-1085", not cheap but I am sure it will last a long time.
