The Rise of Thrawn!
This graphic novel captures the rise of Thrawn splendidly with beautiful visuals. I have not read the novel it is an adaption of and so cannot say how well it works in that sense, but it does tell an intriguing tale to cast a light on an important figure in Star Wars lore.An entertaining read.

The Thrawn Comics are a BEAUTIFUL work of art.
Grand Admiral Thrawn is one of my favorite NON-FORCE users of all-time in the Star Wars Universe. Him & his Chiss people are one of the main reason why I continue to read the books & listen to the audiobooks. His intelligence, how he approaches every mission & situation to get the best results possible with hardly any room for error is what continues to make me love him more & more. And even when errors occur, he looks to improve his tactical skills to the betterment of those under his command. At the end of the day, he is looking to protect & help the Chiss & Ascendancy thrive for generations to come. If you haven't read the Thrawn comics, I IMPLORE you to read them, in hopes that you'll love them more than I do.

The origin of Thrawn
As a newcomer to the character via the Ahsoka series on Disney+, this volume filled in all of the gaps on this enigmatic and strategic character in the SW universe.

I only wish rebels was like this
His cool and calm demeanor throughout the comic is great! It's a shame his character is wasted in rebels. Hopefully he lives up to himself is Ahsoka.

Good Representation of Thrawn
Good Representation of Thrawn. I've read the books and I like seeing Thrawn animated in this way.

Thrawn in comic book form
My prior knowledge of Thrawn comes from Wookieepedia browsing and the Rebels tv series. I haven't yet read Zahn's new canon or original legends books, yet. This book follows Thrawn's story from his first encounter with the Empire up until his time in Rebels. This is a story of a war strategist climbing the ladder. There's also the story of the politics of the Empire. Although Thrawn is at the center of all the action, Arihnda Pryce is heavily featured. I loved getting to see her backstory before her time as governor of Lothal in Rebels. The time jumps are frequent in this book, showcasing relevant stories about Thrawn and those closest to him throughout his time with the Empire. The references to Thrawn's encounter with Anakin Skywalker really made me want to read that story. I liked getting to see the inner workings of the Empire.Knowing the ending of Rebels, I'm really excited to see where Thrawn's story goes in the future. There are little hints about the Chiss Ascendancy in this book. And I want to know more!!!I give this book a 4/5. It's a heavier comic than most of the other Star Wars trade paperbacks since it's covering a bigger story. Because of this it drags a little, but there's a lot of great story and connections in this book.
