The best RO on the market
This reverse-osmosis water filter that doubles as a chic countertop carafe amd has also become the MVP of my camping trips, turning questionable camp ground hookups into mineral-rich sips worthy of a five-star resort—no more aftertaste! Its filtration feels like sending your water through a VIP spa treatment, stripping out both chlorine and heavy metals while recharging the H₂O with alkalizing minerals so it tastes clean, fresh, and faintly “mountain spring” despite my tent being parked in a dusty field. Setup was so painless even my less-techy wife conquered it in under five minutes, and the compact footprint meant it fit perfectly on our camp table without hogging all the space. Bonus: watching the gauge move as it purifies feels like cheering for a tiny water-powered race car, which surprisingly turns every pour into a mini celebration. If you’re ready to upgrade your wilderness hydration game, this clever little carafe is your new best friend—just don’t blame me when your friends start camping with you for the water.

Excellent Water Purifier and Alkalizer
I've had this unit for just over a week. so far, it's been excellent. it's very easy to clean and assemble. the important thing is to make sure all rubber seals/gaskets are properly seated to make sure there won't be any leaks. I opted for the Alkaline + Mineral version, which I really like. the first few carafes were very mineral tasting. it was most likely due to the filter being brand new and my taste buds acclimating. the water from this machine is very pure and clean. I believe every person has the right to clean and healthy water. only Lord knows what's in the water pipes, regardless of location. this machine does buzz while it's filtering, but it's not annoying at all. I may come back later for an update on the review, but so far it's excellent. I also like the parts availability on AquaTru's website. parts accessibility and easy of repair are important considerations for me in anything. very pleased so far, thank you AquaTru for making this unit!

Works great *IF* you have a pitcher
I am updating my review. I can no longer recommend the AquaTru carafe. I reached out to cs and let them know that cycles were no longer running when I refill the tank and put the carafe in place. I have to unplug and replug to get it to run a cycle. They said I need to descale the unit???? Nowhere on the product page does it say descaling is part of the maintenance. Also it says you should replace the RO filter when you descale. No way on earth am using a RO machine that I have to descale and replace the RO filter every 4 months. I would strongly advise against this machine. RO filter should last two years. I'm going back to my tried and true rkin zip filter. They wouldn't even fix this under warranty...which makes it terrible product support in my book. ********** I have been using a tabletop RO system for the better part of a decade. I decided to get a new system because mine was old and full of hard water stains. I was drawn to this one because of the upfront cost, compact size and pitcher. My last unit was extremely reliable and worked great but one thing I hated was I had to basically collect the water in a bowl and transfer it to a pitcher because the spout was too close to the counter to fit anything underneath other than a highball glass. I also was attracted to the pitcher being glass because i just don’t like my water sitting in plastic. Pro’s 1. Easy to set up 2. The pitcher is very convenient to just grab fill up a glass, bottle, espresso machine etc. 3. Works great at filtering water. RO systems are the best 4. Easy to install/change filters 5. Good upfront price 6. Small footprint 7. Glass storage 8. Pitcher and tank is dishwasher safe. The tank came out discolored and I did get a faulty pitcher that cracked in the dishwasher. So maybe not? Cons 1. Very lightweight and plastic-y 2. No on/off button! It starts automatically and sometimes when there is still wastewater in the tank. 3. You have to have the mfg pitcher in place (perfectly) in order for it to work period. It will not produce water without it and the lid has to be on perfectly with the bobber. 4. The pitcher is glass and easily breakable with no plastic or silicone reinforcement to prevent it from breaking. I’m on my 3rd pitcher in 2 months and they take FOREVER to get a replacement. One cracked in the dishwasher which was covered under warranty and my cat knocked the other off the counter…crash 5. Poor availability of replacement pitcher. Not available on mfgr website and it takes a month to get it on Amazon. This is unacceptable. Just look how many pitchers Amazon has sold this month. 6. Not cost efficient due to pitcher easily breaking, low availability of a replacement and no alternate option 7. You have to purchase the base slider separately. You can’t gain access to the water tank without this thing if you have it under a cabinet. It should be included or built into the machine. 8. The water tank is hard to put back on the base and nothing locks/snaps it in place. You really have to push down on both sides evenly and hard to get it to stay and still it sometimes comes loose and falls backwards. I spill water constantly trying to get the tank on the base. 9. The waste water collects in the same water tank as the fresh water and re-filtering waste water can prematurely kill your machine. Sometimes when I pull the pitcher out to fill up my glass and return it to the base, it will reset and start filtering the waste water. There is no way to stop this other than keeping the pitcher off the tray or removing and emptying the water tanks. There should be a better way to prevent this considering it can prematurely damage the machine. Overall, this is a nice little machine for the price. I don’t know that I would choose it again because of the shortfalls and the lack of availability and cost of the replacement pitcher. This is the reason for 3 stars. I am already looking for something else even though I have only had this for 2 months. I am currently using my old counter top unit because I don’t have a pitcher. Been waiting 3 weeks now on a replacement. Good thing I still have my old trusty RKIN unit. I couldn’t include any photos of the pitcher because I don’t have one! Waiting…impatiently… This could easily be fixed with the option of a plastic pitcher or a silicone or plastic mold that fits over the pitcher reinforcing it. I would prefer the latter. Wish list - better pitcher, on/off button, and some sort of guide or clip/snap to hold the tank in place.

No problem so far
I've had this aquatru for about 2 months. I bought a PH and PPM meter for my houseplants, but realized I can test it on the tap and aquatru. 102 PPM for tap and 52 PPm for my alkaline aquatru. PH is about 7.5 with the alkaline version where as tap water was about PH of 7. I bought a second pitcher from Target to keep in the fridge and use the room temp carafe for cooking. I would say, just make sure to push the filters in well or you may hear a loud pop and see water leak from the bottom of the machine. Avoid this by pressing the filter in correctly until it snaps in. The water tastes delicious.

Filter works, but the build quality of the pitcher is not great
UPDATE 2: After posting this review, a customer service associate reached out to me and offered a free replacement pitcher and a discount off my next order. It arrived and is aligned properly and looks good. I've updated the review and give it 4 stars. I wish I didn't have to deal with the whole situation, but I'm overall impressed with the system and the remineralized water tastes great. UPDATE: I contact customer service and sent a picture of the pitcher and asked for a replacement... They refused to replace the pitcher, saying in an email, "I see what you mean, it's totally normal that it's not parallel with the lid, I can't replace it as the replacement will be the same as the one you already have as all pitchers are designed the same way..." They knowingly manufacture uneven and unparalleled carafes. Not happy. Pros: the filtration is great. Cons: The pitcher, ugh ... For a $300 plus system you would think their products would be at least lined up well. The picture shows that when you hold the handle to our, it won't come out straight.

NOT A mineral and alcaline filter! They are misleading you advertising mineralized and alcaline water filter and give you just basic cheaper voc filter. I ordered another one thinking it was a mistake, it came the same cheaper version. I reported it to seller, they did not change description and keep lying to you. I encourage everyone who got this Voc mineral boost alcaline filter to check if filter says just VoC ( with out mineral boost alcaline) , which cheaper filter - does not mineralize and alcaline your water. They count that you would not notice because the look the same ( except words on filter) So you are drinking close to distilled water.
