Season 1 Summers span decades. Winters can last a lifetime. And the struggle for the Iron Throne has begun. It will stretch from the south, where heat breeds plots, lusts and intrigues; to the vast and savage eastern lands; all the way to the frozen north, where an 800-foot wall of ice protects the kingdom from the dark forces that lie beyond. Kings and queens, knights and renegades, liars, lords and honest men...all will play the 'Game of Thrones.' A new original series based on George R.R. Martin's best-selling 'A Song of Ice and Fire' series.Season 2 The Battle continues in Westeros with feuding families and power hungry rulers. Five Kings vie for a single, all-powerful throne in the all-new season of Game of Thrones – an epic story of duplicity and treachery, nobility and honour, conquest and triumph. Season 2 plays out against the backdrop of a fast-approaching winter. In King’s Landing, the coveted Iron Throne is occupied by cruel young Joffrey, counseled by his conniving mother Cersei and uncle Tyrion. But the Lannister hold on the Throne is under assault on many fronts. There’s Robb Stark, son of the slain Lord of Winterfell, Ned Stark; Daenerys Targaryen, who looks to shore up her depleted power through three newborn dragons; Stannis Baratheon, eldest brother of the late King Robert; and Stannis’ brother Renly, who has maintained his own claim since fleeing King’s Landing. In the meantime, a new leader is rising among the wildlings North of the Wall, adding new perils for Jon Snow and the Night’s Watch. With tensions and treaties, animosity and alliances, Season 2 of Game of Thrones promises to be a thrilling journey through a riveting, unforgettable landscape.Season 3 In Season 3, family and loyalty will be the overarching themes, and many critical plot points from the first two seasons will come to a violent head, with several major characters meeting cruel fates. While a primary focus continues to be on King’s Landing, where the Lannisters barely held onto power after a savage naval onslaught from Stannis Baratheon (brother of the late king), stirrings in the North threaten to alter the overall balance of power in Westeros. Robb Stark, King of the North, will face a major calamity in his efforts to build on his victories over the Lannisters in Season 2, while further north, Mance Rayder (new character, played by Ciarán Hinds) and his huge army of wildlings continue their inexorable march south to scale the Wall. Across the Narrow Sea, Daenerys Targaryen – reunited with her three deadly, fast-maturing dragons – attempts to raise an army of slaves to sail with her from Essos, in hopes of eventually overthrowing the Iron Throne.Season 4 As Season 4 begins, the Lannisters' hold on the Iron Throne remains intact in the wake of the Red Wedding slaughter that wiped out many of their Stark nemeses. But can they survive their own egos as well as new and ongoing threats? Meanwhile, an unbowed Stannis Baratheon continues to rebuild his army; the Lannister-loathing ‘Red Viper of Dorne,’ Oberyn Martell, arrives at King's Landing for Joffrey's wedding to Margaery Tyrell; Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons and unsullied force aim to liberate the largest Slavery City in the east...with long-range plans to take back the Iron Throne; and a depleted Night's Watch faces the advance of Mance Rayder's wildling army, who are in turn running from the undead White Walkers.Season 5 After the shocking deaths of S4, the season begins with a power vacuum that protagonists across Westeros and Essos look to fill. At Castle Black, Jon Snow struggles to balance the demands of the Night’s Watch with those of newly-arrived Stannis Baratheon, who styles himself as the rightful king of Westeros. Meanwhile, Cersei scrabbles to hold on to power in Kings Landing amidst the Tyrells and the rise of a religious group led by the enigmatic High Sparrow, while Jaimie embarks on a secret mission. Across the Narrow Sea, Arya seeks an old friend while a fugitive Tyrion finds a new cause. And as danger mounts in Meereen, Daenerys Targaryen finds that her tenuous hold on the city requires some hard sacrifices.Season 6 Following the shocking developments at the conclusion of season five, including Jon Snow’s bloody fate at the hands of Castle Black mutineers, Daenerys’ near-demise at the fighting pits of Meereen, and Cersei’s public humiliation in the streets of King’s Landing, survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to press forward, inexorably, towards their uncertain individual fates. Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south.Season 7 As the season begins, Daenerys Targaryen, accompanied by her Unsullied army and emboldened by Dothraki/Ironborn allies and her lethal trio of dragons, has finally set sail for Westeros with Tyrion Lannister, her newly appointed Hand. Jon Snow, memorably reanimated in S6, has apparently consolidated power in the North after his spectacular conquest of Ramsay Bolton in the “Battle of the Bastards” and the return of Winterfell to Stark control. In King’s Landing, Cersei Lannister, bereft of any surviving heirs, has successfully seized the Iron Throne by using wildfire to incinerate the High Sparrow and other foes in the Sept of Baelor. But as these and other factions drive inexorably towards new alliances or (more likely) violent conflicts, the cold specter of another, apocalyptic threat – in the form of an army of undead White Walkers expected to breach The Wall and invade the South – threatens to undermine the status quo and obliterate the outcome of these smaller, alltoo-human rivalries. Review: Finally bought this as the price was good - I had been warned that season 8 wasn't very good, but as it's not part of this bundle, I made the purchase. The quality was very good and seasons 1-7 were worth a watch, I would recommend buying this set. Review: Addictive viewing. Make sure you've got lots of time! - I'm still on the sixth season so I have a fair bit to go till the end. This has been a fun watch and has kept me glued to my seat watching two or three episodes after I come home from work. Not for purists obviously since there are dragons and zombie-like hordes and a hulking giant, among others. The characters are mostly well-cast. You'll have your favorites, and some of course that you'll find annoying. Me, I find the Samwell character unwatchable so I just fast forward to the next scene. I felt he could have died much earlier as other characters have. Speaking of death, there's plenty of it here. It gets unsettling when characters you like get killed off. Once you get past that, this is really a great epic production that will be the standard for years to come.

Game of Thrones blu ray seasons 1-7 box set. All discs are in Dolby Atmos. A nice surprise!
I ordered the Game of Thrones Blu Ray seasons 1-7 Boxset from Amazon Prime and have just played all the discs for a few seconds just to make sure that they all would play ok. They all seem to play ok which is good news as I didn't want to wait too long to find out that any were faulty as the return date would have passed. Testing the 30 discs took about an hour but it was worth it just to make sure that they were ok. After reading reviews that said that only seasons 5-7 were recorded in Dolby Atmos on Blu Ray and 1-4 were only in Dolby 5.1 and some reviewers saying that the case covers said that 1-4 were in Dolby Atmos but were not and only in Dolby 5.1 I was very happy to discover that all 30 discs that cover the 7 seasons are indeed recorded in Dolby Atmos. At the beginning of the first disc in each of seasons 1-4 the Dolby Atmos glass triangles Demo plays ( I think that's what they are ) and it does sound the dogs doodahs and the pussies wotsits all rolled into one as the sounds bounce around your head. I have an Onkyo receiver that recognises Dolby Atmos straight away and that magic Onkyo blue dot appears as soon as you set the audio option to Dolby Atmos and press play. As I said at the beginning of the review I purchased the Boxset from Amazon Prime so maybe it is the latest edition boxset that now has Dolby Atmos on each of the discs as opposed to an earlier release that only had it on seasons 5-7. The picture quality looks good on the few seconds of each one of the discs so its just a case now of getting round to watch them. I also got the Season 8 4K and Blu Ray set so I am looking forward to seeing the difference in picture quality as this will be the first 4K disc that I have seen. A quick update about the Dolby Atmos for seasons 1-4. I have seen it mentioned on the American Amazon reviews that the Region Free version has all the seasons in Dolby Atmos so you need to check that it is that version.

Great Series
This is a great series. The production quality is superb in blu ray. I would say that blu ray/HD is the minimum you want to be watching this in. 4K a bit over the top unless you have a really big telly. Horribly bloodthirsty though and some really adult themes throughout. The series 1-7 pack is generally cheap because it doesn't include season 8. You can buy this separately, and probably get a much cheaper price than buying seasons 1-8 all together in the same box.

"Bloody" brillant
Once you stick through Season 1 things get interesting, it shows characters when it needs to and action when its required, it never sticks to one plot line for too long before jumping to another character somewere else in Westeros It never forces anything in for the sake of it and everything is said and done for a reason GoT really is one of the best TV shows to happen in a long time, it has an end game unlike other shows like the walking dead were they drag it on for too long til the views lose interest Theres never a dull episode and always keeps you hooked and wanting more, deffinelty worth £69.99, its a Blu-Ray must have

Good series let down by poorly masteredor dirty discs
Having read the first two volumes of the tale, I was interested to see the HBO series. I could have bought these on download from Amazon but decided on the Bluray. The box set arrived and started quite early on Season 1 with a disc skipping and freezing. The retailer did send out a replacement for this but have since discovered another. Have used a bluray lens cleaning disc just to make sure the player (a good quality Sony) is not at fault. Also the discs take quite some time to load and you cannot skip the opening credits. On further examination, I realised that the discs needed to be cleaned and used a glass cleaning microfibre cloth taking care to polish radially (from the centre hole to the edge. This helped clear up the freezing and skipping.

Seven Seasons of the Seven Kingdoms!
Amazing quality, amazing value. Saw the S7 DVD on it’s own priced at €38, so to get all the seasons, on BD for such a low price is simply astonishing. The show itself I’ve watched since it first aired on Sky Atlantic back in 2011, HBO at its finest.

Amazon came through for me in a big way when there was a shipping issue and I cannot thank them enough for getting them to me when originally promised. They saved the day and made my Game of Thrones party a huge hit! The DVD's are of incredible quality and have had no issues as some mentioned with skipping or clarity. This is worth every penny!

So far we have watched every season but the last one and only one of the disc (season 6, episode 9) had a playback issue in our bluray player. We watched seasons 1-4 on our PS4, so we tried that disc in the PS4 and it worked just fine. Only draw back is each disc has a long load time but if when you get to the last episode and it prompts you to put in next disc do that and wait, the next episode will start playing just like if the disc has multiple episodes on it. Can't go wrong with this buy,
