I thought the message was great and that it teaches children (and adults) to show result towards each other and to their elders using biblical principles. I remember reading a review from someone on here that said something to the effects of "even down right biblical" and "preachy". Well, I guess if you don't believe in God, then this book isn't for you. But our family does and we love inviting God and His Word into our home, especially when teaching our children. The real Berenstains that wrote this series of books are Christians and many of their books principles are based on their beliefs. We love the series and I highly recommend!

A little ‘bible-y’ but great story in general
There’s 3 quotes from the Bible (one on the very first page, two within the story) — they’re easy to leave out while reading, if you don’t want to include them. But the general story is of showing respect to your elders. Sister and Brother Bear showing respect to their mom and dad, and Papa and Mama showing respect to their parents/ the grandparents. It’s an easy read and gets to point across OK. There’s no real resolution, other than apologies and the mention of forgetting their manners. But I think for young kids it can facilitate a discussion and they actually include questions at the very end of the book that are helpful! (One is about the 10 commandments, which again can just be skipped)

Grew up loving this
As a child I read this book and had to have it to help my children understand the word respect. We reread it once in awhile and enjoy this book. We ordered the paperback version and it’s held up pretty nicely.

Great message!
This book has a great message. I have collected Berenstein Bears books since I was six years old, and love reading the newer ones that feature Honey and have different messages than the older ones. This one was perfect for me and my daughter, because I talk to her about how to respect others and her grandparents. I also brought it to school and read it to 2 and 3 year olds, who listened to the whole book (I did paraphrase a few pages that were long-winded). It helped us to discuss feelings and respect. I am happy to add it to my book collection and my daughter (2.9 years old) has asked to read it multiple times.

Family entertainment with key life lessons for children.
My family really loves the Berenstain Bears collection. The kids really enjoy the hearing the stories at night before bed. My wife and I really enjoy the fact the book is entertaining and educational. Each book shares a nice life lesson that's important and easy to understand. They aren't so long that the kids lose interest, but they are long enough to help the kids settle down at night. I would recommend these stories for kids 4-10. Pros: Great message, entertaining, right length Cons: N/A

Great Seller Experience, but this book was disappointment.
The shipping was fast and return process was easy! That is why I give the seller 5 stars. However, this book was a disappointment. We are big fans of the Berenstain Bears and have a large collection...but, this was the first book we didn't like.

Wholesome and educational!
Wholesome and educational! Why spend time reading "silly" books when you can incorporate some character building into story time.
