Fantastic little lantern
Really amazed at these lanterns. Light is diffused so you don't see glare produced by bare led. Light is bright white. It will light up a room enough to see where you are going and keep you from running into anything. I don't think It is bright enough to read by unless you hold lantern really close to book but it does good job as area light. Lantern runs for 10-12 hrs., so it might last 5 days if you only used it 2 hr. a day. Takes better part of day to recharge using sun. No on/off switch, pull light up and it comes on, collapse it and it turns off. I got these primarily as emergency lights when pwr. goes off. Compact size for storage. I was able to charge an android phone while the lantern was recharging in the sun. Phone was kept in the shade and charged to 100% in less than 4 hrs. Pretty neat. Very pleased with purchase.

So far, so good!
Just got these today. I didn't have high hopes for them because honestly, they looked kind of cheap in the picture. But I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. In fact, they have exceeded my expectations so far. They are compact, bright and easy to use. Plus they come with an S hook for hanging if you should need to suspend your light. We have not gone camping with them yet, so I cannot vouch for how well they work in the field.... Like how bright they are at night or how well they charge our androids, or even how durable they are, etc. I'll update once we've used them in the elements. Update: itโs been about a year. Theyโve been great ourdoors! Theyโve lighted enough space at night that a few family have been able to hang while itโs dark. They have not charged our phones well, but what can you expect. I got them for their light, not charging. Iโm happy with them.

Common sense purchase
3 modes of powering and affordable. I have another one (different brand). This purchase I am pleased with as power outage room lights. I would not want to carry them because they are so bright and not meant to be near the eyes. My other solar lantern isn't bright enough to light the room adaquetly but is good focused lighting and comfortable on the eyes. If you are looking for room lighting, these are great. If you want to use as a flashlight replacement, you will most likely be disappointed.

Nice cheap lantern
Good value for money lantern. Hit or miss with these things. First lantern i got wouldnt light up and i had to return it. Got a replacement and it's working fine. Have not used it much yet but seems ok. Extremely light but does not seem durable at all. I like that there are so many options for charging. Solar charger was the selling point for me. Works great so far but have a backup handy because it doesn't seem reliable.

Great lights, and solar too.
These lanterns work great. I put both into a window to stay charged up, and have used them already. They put out a bright light and are light weight. I would definitely buy more to keep, especially if the lights go out, or if I'm camping. Every house should have these in their light stock.

Pluses and big minus
I bought two. Here are my pluses and a big minus. Pluses: 1. Solar works. I drained the battery completely (left in on a few days). Solar recharges rather quickly. Less then day. 2. Plug in wall socket recharges. Good feature as I added a converter to my jeep for plug in accessories. (Energizer EN100 Ultra Compact DC to AC 100W Direct Plug-in Power Inverter) 3. 3 AA batteries work great. I love this feature as all my emergency gear is devoted to AA only batteries. 4. Lightweight and compact. The collapsing feature protects the light and adjusts the brightness. Good light too. 5. I took the 'S' hooks that came with it and twist tied them to hanger handle. Now its multipurpose for hanging. Minuses: See pics. 1. When plugged in to charge (or solar or AA battery), you can see the red light showing connection. HOWEVER, there is NO GREEN LIGHT showing the lantern is charged. This is a major FAIL, esp for emergency equipment. In fact, a better feature would be a scale showing how much charge is left on the internal battery. 2. The biggest FAIL is neither lantern I bought will charge my Android phone, though it clearly says in the description it does. The 1st pic shows the units charging from wall plug; note red light. The 2nd shows my phone charging from traditional wall charger. The 2nd pic shows phone attached to fully charged lantern (charged over night) and phone indicates it is Dis-charging. Both lanterns failed in this feature. 3. Tried to contact seller but no option except to give him a review. 4. Some of the info on the listing is gobbledygook. How about getting a decent English translator. Anyone make sense of these direct quotes below? "Charging, please turn off the power,so as not to damage the LEDs!" "Hook fluctuation two sides detachable can be loaded." Summary. Overall above average emergency lantern that could be superior if phone charging feature worked and a fully charged green light was added.

Everyone should be prepared for power outages
These are simple to use and have multiple methods for charging - plug into a normal outlet, use a USB charger, battery-powered, and solar-powered. I really can't say how effective the solar charging is, but having multiple other ways to power the light is a huge win in my book. The lanterns are lightweight and portable. You can raise or lower the top of the light for more/less light emitted. They also come with a handle and metal S-hook in case you want to hang them. I bought two of them for my college-age son after his dorm's power was knocked out. I didn't even think about that when we were doing his dorm room shopping. I like knowing that these will work with the battery power even if he forgets to keep it charged.

Love these 2 lanterns. I bought a USA to UK plug adapter to charge lanterns
The light is fantastic. To charge with the cable I bought a USA to UK plug adapter, as the 2 lanterns charging cables end bit only fit a USA plug. The 2 lanterns are in a beautiful deep red. They seem well made. I love the fact they are collapsible, and that by just lifting the top part it lights up as long as - it either has 3 AA batteries in its bottom compartment - it is charged via it top solar panel - or it is charged via its charging cable. I do not like the fact the charging cables only fit a USA plug. If I was an expert I may have bought 2 charging cables to fit a UK plug, but I am wary about buying the wrong thing, so I bought a USA to UK plug adapter instead. I like its handles to be able to carry. There are also 2 hooks to put on the handles if needed. I posted a photo when it is completely black, this is the bathroom completely in the dark. In that bathroom when I opened up the lantern and put it on the bathroom door hook, it lit up the whole bathroom. Very happy with my purchase!
