For anyone that used a firestick before this is just that but in steroids. It’s a lot faster and better quality. The picture quality is great and has various apps to choose from. It delivers great network stability and sound quality and overall the price is very reasonable. It’s essentially plug and play, and can support Ethernet cable which is amazing. Moreover it allows you to run the Plex client so you can watch stuff off your own plex server.

I have been using various firesticks for years now, and often looked at the fire cube, but didn't think it was worth it. However, I recently decided to take the plunge and get a cube. I was wrong. The cube has the same function as the stick, but has 16gb of storage and it is a lot faster and smoother. easy to set up and you can also connect your Virgin/Sky box to it. I chose a refurbished one because it was a bit cheaper, and honesty you can't tell it's been refurbished. I was so impressed with the cube that I bought another one, this time a brand new one.

I've upgraded my setup with a Firecube. The Octa-core processor makes everything run buttery smooth. Picture quality on my LG 65" Nanocell 4K TV is superb, and with 16GB storage, there's plenty of room for lots of apps. Apps load very quickly, and this just adds to the overall premium feel of the device. There's a USB2 port, HDMI in, HDMI out plus a Gigabit Ethernet port. You can also plug in an IR extender, but this is not supplied with the unit. The supplied remote is compact and very easy to use. 2 x AAA batteries are supplied. Simply plug in the supplied PSU and follow the onscreen instructions to setup remote and the Firecube. This is where it loses a star. I had a problem with the Prime Video app that repeatedly didn't install, but the Firecube thought that it was. Even after a factory reset and retry, the problem persisted. I was thinking that maybe the device was faulty in some way, but I resolved the issue by going via a web browser to Your Account>Apps and more>Your Apps and finding the Prime Video app, then selecting Deliver to... from the drop-down menu on the right-hand side. From there, I selected the Firecube, and the app was installed. Since then, I've had no further problems. First impressions of the Firecube are very positive, and it feels like a big upgrade from a 4K Firestick Plus.

I got this as a “like new” refurb & it doesn’t look like it had ever been opened. I have the previous version of the Cube too but love that this as it has an HDMI in, which was my main reason for buying. It’s fast and connects steadily to my wifi, despite being in my garden cabin about 15m from my house.
