Although I personally had a problem with installing two of the legs I still rate this product highly. Beautiful finish, solid panels and legs. For the most part easy to assemble. Drill is needed. I ended up stripping the core of one of the legs so it’s wobbly. Call customer support number listed in the assembly instructions and a new leg is on its way. Cannot ask for anything more. Although pieces are not labeled you can separate the larger pieces the following way: “Bs” have the same number of holes “E” the bottom has an unfinished side, and “A” the top is finished on both sides. I’ll secure once I paint, wallpaper and update floors. Will update pics when finished.

Great bookcase. Fairly easy to build. Base screws hold well. Off gassed just after 36 hours. This goes very well in my bedroom. I chose black for a neutral color.

We love these bookcases. Despite some of the reviews of the quality ours is awesome and the packing it was shipped in was excellent. Why only 4 stars? because, as many have already stated, the parts were not labeled. We've put together dozens and dozens of 'assemble yourself' furniture over decades from many different manufactures and every single one had labels on every part, so I don't understand why this company does not do that as well. My wife spent the day we received these bookcases putting 'post it' labels on every piece (we bought 2 shelving units and 1 unit with a cabinet underneath). She was very frustrated trying to match the pictures to the parts. Once that was completed assembly was straight forward. We assembled all 3 in about 3.5 hrs. I did do some caulking to hide most of the seams on the front. Note: We did call customer service due to a piece we damaged accidently and they didn't hesitate to send us a replacement at no charge; so 5 stars for their customer service. You can see the piece that's missing (we're waiting for the replacement) on the far right side on the front of the that bookcase. We didn't install the shelves yet until we see where we want to place them for all our photo albums. I might even install under counter lighting in the near future. Overall we love these bookcases, they look classy, attractive, are solid, and will display all of our decades of photo albums beautifully.

This is a sturdy heavy bookcase. Good assembly instructions and I put it together in about an hour or so.

We looked at many bookcase units, most costing a good bit less than this Prepac one, but the difference in price was worth it. Books are heavy, and most shelves made of anything but cabinet plywood will slowly sag under the weight of books. This unit is still made of "engineered wood" (basically high quality particle board), but the horizontal additional piece of wood that goes across the face of each shelf add a lot of strength. The rating shown is 20 lbs. per shelf - for both the 18" wide model and the 31.75" wide. Since our application was to fully fill each shelf with heavy text books, we bought the 18" units. Assembly was rather easy, especially since instructions were very clear in page-by-page steps and in English. Strong horizontal pieces of wood run across the top, bottom and sides of each cabinet, making it look more like fine custom woodwork rather than the usual thin material.

I get all the way to the end of building this flimsy bookcase, and the brackets for the shelves don't fit the peg holes, not even with a rubber mallet. If I still had a box that fit this, I would break it down and send it back.

Assembly is a pain in the behind, but once it’s completed - it looks really nice and artistic. Good materials and heavy dirty.

guysss!! these shelves are so good! despite the mixed reviews, i still decided to order them because i was specifically looking for an adjustable 5-tier shelf, and this one looked really promising. it’s honestly super solid and good-looking—really thick and sturdy. compared to my old shelf, this one mogs so hard ‘^_^ one piece did arrive damaged, but i put it on the bottom shelf so it didn’t bother me too much—not enough to ask for a replacement. that said, the shelf came with a lovely note from the company saying you can contact them to get a replacement if that happens, which was really reassuring! so no worries at all ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ ) it’s very easy to build, just be gentle with the hammer so you don’t damage anything. overall 10/10 ˃̵ᴗ˂̵

I love this new bookshelf. It has deep and tall shelves and they're strong. The design is modern and simple. One recommendation to people unfamiliar with assembling such projects: re-read the instructions several times before beginning and then, read again. Also, separate the assembly pieces in individual small containers or dishes. This saves a lot of time and aggravation. Once I understood the diagrams etc., it took 3 or 4 hours total to assemble - spaced out over 3 days.

Magnifique, magnifique, magnifique. Il faut souffrir pour être une belle bibliothèque. L'assemblage est un vrai casse tête, les instructions n'étant pas très claire. Si vous une vidéo d'assemblage, il faut la regarder sinon deviner quel clou rentre dans quel trou. Toutefois la qualité est excellente.
