A drop-in pocket at the front and zip-secured pockets in back combine with quick-dry and stretch to make it the perfect choice for the trail, the market, the cafe or all three. A discovery you need to make. Our Discovery Pant would work equally well exploring the monuments of Washington, D.C., as the merlots of Washington State. These comfortable pants are made from high-flying Discovery Stretch Nylon, a quick-dry blend of nylon and Spandex with a cotton-like feel that resists wrinkles, helps keep the sun’s harmful rays at bay and moves right along with you.

True Sizing, Durable Fabric, Sturdy Construction, Flattering Shape
(Wife Review) I've been looking for a good pair of pants that are versatile enough for rugged wear or to go to a nice lunch in. These are definitely well-made, sturdy, comfortable and flattering. My biggest fear going into this purchase was sizing. I am a small person and wear a size 2. Not a vanity size 2, but a true size 2. These pants were exactly the size on the label, so if you are used to vanity sizing then you will need to go up a couple sizes. The pockets lay flat against your body so you won't have any strange bulges or gaping. The front button closure also lies flat against your stomach and seems like they would be flattering on someone with a bit of a tummy. I have a flat stomach and these pants keep me looking that way without any puffing. The fabric is incredibly lightweight, flexible and the weave is tight. I really feel like I could stay cool and comfortable will walking or hiking and could even take a fall without ruining my pants.I've washed them a few times already and there are no signs of fading or fraying of the fabric and no shrinking whatsoever. These pants would be great for:*Hikes*Walks*Sightseeing*BugOut Bag*Food Servers*Warehouse Stockers*Teachers*Hairdressers*Dress-Casual Attire*Camping*Go To PantsThose are just a few suggestions off the top of my head, but basically they can be worn in any situation that doesn't call for a fancy gown. I may even pair them with a sequined top, strappy high-heeled sandals and rhinestone clutch to go out for a nice dinner!

Royal Robbins Womens Dicovery Pant has some sizeing issues
Purchased shorts 3 years ago by same company, same style. Loved them. Light, nice fit comfortable, travel well. Ordered the light taupe long pant in the same size as the shorts, size 4. Too small!? Sent them back. Ordered one size up (6) and they fit well. Love them. Ordered two other colors (black and soapstone) in size 6. Too small!? Sent them back. Ordered one size up (8) in the black and strangely they fit the same as th size 6 in light taupe. The sizing is inconsistant, and required a couple tries to get the ones that would fit properly. I really like the pants though. It was unexpected that the fit would vary so much form one color to the next. Very odd?

Great great travel pants
I only hesitate to give these pants 5 stars because of the awkward fit. Why do pants these days not have a waistline? Are modern women all barrel-shaped creatures now? I thought women we supposed to have something resembling an hourglass shape with a defined waist? I guess that's passe now and barrel-waists are in. Anyway, other than not having a defined waist, they did fit my curvy-athletic frame better than most pants. Biking and hiking have given me muscular thighs and a booty that are hard to shop for in a world of "skinny jeans." Thank you Royal Robbins for giving me a choice. While not perfectly shaped for me, they are great. Flared a touch at the ankles to balance wide hips and fabric with a bit of give makes these very flattering for an athletic hourglass figure. I bought these for a trip to Europe where packing space was very valuable. I knew I didn't want to pack jeans because they were bulky and if I got caught in the rain in Amsterdam (very likely, eh?!), I wouldn't want to walk around damp all day. These pants were perfect travel pants. I was able to wash them quickly in the bathtub at night and hang them to dry for morning or the day after (depending on how humid the city I was staying in was). Perfect! Now that I'm home I still love them and their companion Discovery Capris. Quick dry, rugged, good looking, and pure comfort. If only they made these like my kids' pants that have the hidden elastic "adjustable fit waist" tabs in the waistband and I'd be in heaven!

Too short, but nice product
The fit was good through the hips, waist, and thighs but the length was too short for me. For reference, I am 5'8" and have a 33" inseam. It's too bad, because I have another pair of Royal Robbins travel pants (the skinny-leg pants) that I love.

Great style & very comfortable
I ordered these pants on my husband's account. I'm 5' 1.5" & weigh 133 lbs; the 8-short fit perfectly in the waist & thighs BUT the "short" is just too short. (In the interest of full disclosure, I like my pants to hit the ground so they may be ok for other people my height - I measured the inseam & I got 28.5" but the RR website says the short inseam is 29", idk). They're about in inch shorter then my Columbia "short" Anytime Outdoor pants. I've seen reviews that say to up-size & I almost ordered a 10 because I usually wear 8 in Columbia's but the 8 was fine! (except for length) I ordered the black as well & both colors fit exactly the same; I only mention this as I saw some reviews that mentioned inconsistency in the sizing. They're also light-weight & super comfortable! The styling & fabric are amazing & perfect for my upcoming hiking vacation, so I'm ordering the 8 regulars. A little bit long might be ok with hiking boots on. I'm hoping they work because I really love these pants.

Jet Black is really Dark Navy
Well made, quick drying item but the colour tone of jet black pair I ordered was somewhat off. More Royal Navy Blue. A rather cheap looking black dye job here. What a shame.
