Works as expected.
I'm happy that this kit came with the cover cap as well. Although the stock cap came off without breakage. I found this to be the cause of the warning light on the dash, along with the whistling sound. You can check if this is the problem while releasing crankcase pressure by pulling the oil stick or oil filler cap, and the whistle goes away. Sure enough, the diaphragm was torn. This is a common problem on the Volvo 5 cylinder when approaching 130K. Look for the roughly 2.5" diameter black cap sitting right behind the oil filler cap. Plenty of YouTube videos showing how to change it out. Hope this helps.

Fixed 2006 Volvo V50 T5 AWD
My sonโs V50 was howling and stopped when I took off the oil filler cap. Pulling super strong suction through oil filler. Read that these diaphrams go bad and need replacing. Pulled air box to the side and popped off with stiff putty knife getting leverage on oil filter cap. Reused original cap but this replacement looked exact same. Lubed the lip of the PCV body with petroleum jelly and carefully positioned in place with the notch lined up and pressed down with 1/2 ratchet wrench levered off engine tab. It seated all the way round and totally fixed problem. Time will tell how long it lasts. Iโm happy with purchase.

Diaphragm worked but I could not get the new cap to snap on.
Item fit my 2015 Volvo 2.5 liter turbo 5 cylinder engine. I could not however get the new cap to snap on to my old oil separator assembly. But I did get the new diaphragm to work with my old cap, although getting it back on was pretty hard. As you can see it in the picture I had to use a long board pry up against the intake manifold and push it down. Hope this helps others.

Should have bought just the diaphragm
I was only able to use the diaphragm. The cover is a tad bit bigger where it will not secure snuggly in place. I was careful enough with the original cover to be able to reuse it. It's been about 5 months using this and is still holding up after about 5k miles. Hopefully it continues to.

Looked good, fit not so!
The part arrived on time, however, that is the only good thing. When the part arrived, I inspected the part which appeared to be identical at first glance. When I held the new PCV cover up to the original PCV cover, I noticed that the outer diameter of the New PCV cover was noticeably larger than the original. Inspecting the diaphragm in the new Cover, it appeared that it was slighter smaller, and less robust than the original diaphragm. I went for it anyway to install, since my original cover had a crack. Immediately as it tried to press the cover on, it was obvious that the new cover was not going to stay in place as it was slightly too large. Not sure what is going on with quality control, but this did not work on my T5 Volvo. YES IT DID look the same at first glance when I opened the package...this one is going back regrettably as it would have been a great deal if it fit!

Cap does not fit
Spring and diaphragm work, but cap is not a snug fit. It will cause your car to throw a CEL. You will need to reuse the original cap, if it isnโt damaged, or find a replacement cap at a junkyard to use with this spring and diaphragm.
