Review: I have the other oracles by this author, so I knew, basically, what to expect from this deck. I have been collecting tarot and oracle decks since the mid 1990s, often for the art and aesthetic (or perceived collectable value in some cases). Most of the decks I own see little use, if any. Ahh, but there's something special about Rebecca Campbell's decks!! Granted, I do see a lot of hypnotic elements, especially in the Work Your Light deck/book. We literally call it the "brainwash deck" around my house. But, hypnosis can be used for good or ill. I spot this stuff, part of me rebels very strongly when I notice that someone is trying to manipulate me (that's actually a natural, automatic response). I have tried to determine the motivation for using subconscious manipulation tactics...but I don't know the authors intention. It seems like it is in the spirit of helping, comforting, and supporting the consumer (but there's a big recurring theme about extraterrestrial races in some of these decks and I worry that the motivation might be to encourage belief in aliens). This specific deck seems to feature less of the hypnotic elements as compared to the Light and the Rose oracles. There's only a couple of cards with cosmic themes. This deck has a very substantial guidebook that is beautifully written, it talks about the sacred waters of Earth, the womb, and within our own cells. There's some focus on Glastonbury, and the Holy Grail which I found particularly interesting. There is quite a bit about Arthurian Legend and Glastonbury...you can definitely still get full use and enjoyment from these cards even if you have never been to the U.K. but I think you'll enjoy them more if you have some prior knowledge about Glastonbury and King Arthur etc. The artwork is stunningly beautiful!! The cards are large, and beautifully designed. The book suggests creating a weekly altar to focus on a card of the week. These cards are beautiful and large enough that if one is so inclined, they would be perfect to display in such a manner. The art is very ethereal and mystical. Aesthetic digital art, with a lot of pleasing geometric elements that manage to be geometric but not harsh. There's a delicate and intricate flow to the art that combined with the card descriptions are ideal for mindfulness and meditative practices. I own a lot of decks, and this is one of the most beautiful in my opinion. It is very uplifting and calming. If you like oracle decks, you'll probably like this one!! It can be a great tool to help work with your intuition and help with enlightenment and healing!! I do love all of the authors decks, but feel generally a little put-off by all the hypnosis stuff in some of the other decks!! I hesitated to order it, the same way that I try to avoid companies that I perceive using manipulative NLP tactics in their T.V. commercials. Thankfully, that's not so apparent with this specific deck. This deck seems to come from a genuine place and seems truly supportive and helpful for the consumer. I am glad I decided to buy this one, and I think it would also make a great, much appreciated gift for a loved one--or for your own self care!!
