Campho Phenique has been around for a very long time. I remember my mother using it on us as kids for cuts and scrapes. Years ago, I got a fever blister on my lip and purchased some at a local pharmacy. But it did not work nearly as fast as this little tube. I thought maybe the formula had changed with the previous Campho , maybe it was more diluted. I am not sure. But it took longer than usual to work, so I just quit stocking it in my home medicine kit. I then got a blister on my lip just a few days before buying this little tube. So frustrated because I also had what appeared to be perioral dermatitis. Which takes a good long time to go away. It looked like three little warts by the side of my mouth that regardless of what remedies I used, would not go away. I thought about visiting the dermatologist but knew I would eventually find something remedial on my own. I did know Tea Tree showed promise, and I did have some, but it was not healing them, just drying them out but they remained. Fast forward when the fever blister appeared, I went straight to Amazon and saw the thousands of reviews for this tube of Campho Phenique. The price was ridiculously cheap so I put my faith in the Campho once more. Day one after arriving. The fever blister by the end of the day was drying and fast. By end of day two, it was gone. Oh, there was still an area of darkness where it was, but that too would disappear by day 4. NOT ONLY THAT, but the little wart like, perioral lesions were also going away. They didnt just dry up and scab. They seemed to shrink, then dry a bit, then disappear and I had those for at least 3 months prior. I believe the Aloe in this tube of Campho Phenique is a great bonus. The lesions dont just dry out but are also softened by the aloe so your healing looks and feels so much better. This is necessary in your home medical kit to have when you need it. Truly a powerhouse

most effective product for cold sore i have ever used. had a very large , inflamed cold sore, applied this overnight and it was relieved, draining and healing the next morning. It scabbed over and peeled within one more day. the cream burns at first but then is soothing. also moisturizes.

In my opinion, it does the job very well. I’ve applied it before to an active outbreak and I feel like it definitely sped up the healing time. A few days ago, I felt a tingling on the top of my lip which 100% would have led to an outbreak, but I applied this immediately for maybe every six hours just a thin layer and the tingling went away. I don’t get cold sores very often but pre holiday stress and I got a horrible on one my bottom lip. I usually use Abreva but it wasn’t doing anything, and it’s pricey. Read positive reviews for this gel and decided to give it a chance. Was relatively cheap so expectations were low. After 2 days it’s 50% better. It’s still not great but so much better. I would say I accidentally got a little on my tongue and it was numb for a while. So try to only use a little so that doesn’t happen. Definitely a numb menthol feeling when you use it, but whatever works. Abreva left a burning feeling, but this is more a cooling effect. Will keep using until it goes away and hopefully next time I can start this earlier to cut it off before it gets worse
