Upon opening the box I thought--Gosh this Bookstand is Little! Desperately needing a stand for The Bread Bible: Rose Levy Beranbaum--a 600 page book I gave it a try. Wow! It worked! The little front bit adjusts for pages or size of book. Really a great buy. And it lays flat when not in use, taking up no additional space. Very Happy!

Sturdy, well-made metal book stand that’s fully adjustable and holds books securely without slipping. Folds flat for easy storage and travel. Works great for textbooks, cookbooks, and tablets, and helps reduce neck strain. Simple, durable, and very useful—highly recommend!

Bought this for my husband to use on a table or desk. He LOVES it. It can hold a fairly thick novel, and the height adjustment options are perfect. Because it folds flat, he can take it with him everywhere. I like that it's all metal, seems quite sturdy. The somewhat minimalist design is nice, too.

What's not to like? It's inexpensive, lightweight, folds flatter than wood or bamboo models, and so far works great for small to medium/large cookbooks. I don't have a heavy or oversized book to test, but it feels sturdy, has a wide base for support, and the tension on the bar that holds the pages down is tight, so it holds really well and I think it could manage big books without a problem.
