Because this is some seriously strong thread. Ripping it out is a chore. Contrary to claims, it does unravel some when cut- threading a needle takes all of an extra second, sometimes. Great value- lots and lots of thread on the spool. (I can pass on the bulk of it when I pass on.)

I would order this again. Just what I needed for my cushion covers I am making. Nice.

This thread keeps splitting and breaks in the sewing machine often. I would not recommend.

My sewing machine did not like this thread. The strands come untwisted so many jams and lots of retreating.
