Skil 73400 Adjustable Dial Saw

A little hard to adjust, but with a little trial and error, and some test holes, it does exactly what I needed to do, and that's to drill some holes that were a size in between what you can get with hole saw sets. I've had one of these for many years, and used it often, but I misplaced it and had to order one for a project I'm working on. This saw performs as well as my previous saw, and allowed me to finish my project in a timely manner. I am very satisfied with this saw, and expect a lot of use from it. I mainly cut holes in wood, plastic, and plastic foam, and it works well in all of these materials. I recently needed some plastic disks that would fit inside an odd sized plastic pipe. This saw cut the disks accurately, and quickly. I'm happy with the purchase, the price, and the rapid shipping.

For the price, these are very good. I have used this same Skil dial saw for years. The materials are good and are equal to the price. They are not super high quality or super durable, but for the price and intended use they are very good.

Drill bit was crooked. Enough said. I mean, it's a simple device, doesn't require much. What it does require is the drill bit is straight.

The first one received had metal part that came out package after opening and when adjusting the blades, one of them was loose. It and the second one I received appeared to be refurbished. I guess there are no new ones out there.

This is a great tool. I brought it to bore lock holes in some exterior solid core doors I installed in my home. It does a great job. The price was excellent and the shipping was quick. I highly recommend this hole saw. I was a trim carpenter for 20 years and this little tool does the job with no problems.

I purchased this tool years ago (10? 15?) and have used it anytime I needed an off-size or extra large hole drilled. The blades are a little difficult to adjust in that when the nut is loosened, they wobble just a bit, so it's something of a trial and error to get the exact diameter you want - guestimate, tighten the nut, measure, repeat if not correct. It is particularly useful for sheet goods such as plywood. I am forced to buy another one now because, given my past success with the product, I tried to use it on sheet stainless steel. Do not attempt this, it melts the blades, not the stainless steel. BUT, if I had used it as intended, I would still be using the one I purchased years ago.

This is a must if you want to cut a hole at different sizes without changing cutters all the time. I've had one of these for years in my tool box. I finally wore it out after many many uses. For the price these are GREAT. It stays sharp and very easy to use. I highly recommend this cutter for the average home owner or professionals.
