Review: Great book - Always gotta love some good 'ol Calvin and Hobbes! Review: Fantastic collection but includes a cynical period for Watterson - All Calvin and Hobbes collections deserve five stars, and the ones with the unstructured Sunday format deserve that much more. This book format is actually a bit better than the new portable editions for a few of those layouts too, though the portables are excellent. The one caveat here is that it has a title and cover that capture a special aspect of wonder that Calvin and Hobbes does well, but the actual strips collected are more cynical and negative than most. It’s a Magical World maybe fits the promise of the cover more, in my opinion.
