used this to make cable management for my server rack super micro servers.... the ones buy supermicro are very pricey.... i counted out 6 or 7 links then reversed the chain did that a few times and it folds up a few times so that when u pull out its straight when u push the server rack back in it snakes it self

My company recently designed an equipment cabinet to house electronic component's on city transit buses, and also school buses. We used these drag chain's to take wire's and cable's from the back of the cabinet to the tray's. they allow the wire's and cable's to move with the tray smoothly without getting caught on anything, while keeping them out of sight. This is not the intended use for these drag chains, but they worked perfectly for our needs. The build quality and durability seem very solid. The only downside, and why I gave 4 star's instead of 5, is that there are 2 different version's you can receive when you order this product. They are very similar to each other, just slightly different link length's. Both version's still worked for us, so not a big deal. They are also easy to use, changing length's is a breeze. Would recommend this product!

Very high quality! Loved it for my school engineering project!

This was my first cable drag chain cable carrier. As a novice, I could have used some basic instructions.

The drag chain is heavy duty and can handle a bunch of cable or tubing but the retaining clips are difficult to open and close and they are brittle. I broke a couple of them trying to pry them out. Once I figure out how to use a screw driver to pry them off, I broke no more of them but it was still pretty difficult. Snapping them back into place was often difficult as well and I had to use some wide opening pliers and even a small hammer when I could not get the pliers on both side because of where I had it mounted to get them to click shut. Additionally, the tabs that hold the retaining clips in place narrow the gap so anything you put in has to be narrower (or at least compressible) than the maximum internal width. I much prefer the drag chains that have a pivoting arm to these where you have to completely remove the retaining clips.

..what can I say? It is what it says it is. Cheap. Available.

I bought a mechanical standing desk and while I was able to cable manage most of the wires under the desk itself, I was struggling with the cables that where plugged into the wall outlets (namely two power cords and one Ethernet cable). I was able to pop them open without any of them breaking (which I was afraid of based on the reviews). What worked for me was to put my index finger in the chamber and slowly pry it out while putting a little swing left and right. Eventually one side will come lose. I will say that if you are looking to pass cables through these where the ends are bigger than the channel, you may be best fitted with other models that seem to have a more user friendly system to lift open, but that said, I am very happy with my purchase and worked like a charm!

If you're OCD about cable management then you'll love this. Works really well if you have moving cables that you need to tidy up and gives it a finished look. I got the 15x30mm size and had no issues opening the channel covers. I used a very small flathead screwdriver and simply pried one side to pop them open. Not a single one broke on me after opening them all at least twice. The joints move smoothly and lay perfectly flat when completely unfurled. It's strong enough to hold flat horizontally when holding from one end--although I can't say how much weight it would hold that way (I'm using it vertically). One end of the drag chain has a slightly beefier connection point vs the other. That is, the end link is about double the length vs the opposite end. I used that for my stationary end. Reasonable price and overall I highly recommend.

Individual links are nicely cast, clean edges, with a great finish. Chain articulates smoothly and freely. Based on the different product variations for this item I thought that the links would open to allow cables to be inserted - but the links on the 10 x 20 chain do not! I should have been more careful in my research. That aside, I am very happy with the drag chain, especially at this price-point. Minimum bend radius is 8 cm outer edge to outer edge.

Ok, but doesn't lay completely flat

Over half the tabs break, I am using the correct method to get them off.
