The DVD says you need a mat but I just do it on my rug. You do need weights though to get the results that are promised, I got some for £5 on desertcart. So all in all, would definitely recommend this product. I'm very much looking forward to the results I know it will bring. Best Fitness DVD out there.
Having tried many fitness DVDs in the past, I can honestly say that this has to top them all. Although, I have only had it a week and thus stuck to level 1, I am already noticing results to my fitness and physic. Extreme shed and shred

Brill hardcore workout
I am a jillian fan so I know any of her workouts are guna be tough no matter what This didn't disappoint There are two levels on this DVD level 1 and level 2 I started out with level 1 and I was surprised by how this was yet still gave a full good workout Then I moved onto level 2 and this really steps up a notch Jillian wants u to do level 1&2 together, I havnt done this as I think I would literally die I have however done level 1 in the morning and level 2 in the evening and that was a killer! Iv been doing this DVD for a few weeks know and I can notice an improvement in myself doing the workout How ever my cousin did this DVD with me, he's been going gym for the past 4/5months and has got a lot fitter and he couldn't finish it, he couldn't even finish some moves as he was too knackered! Overall I think this is a brilliant DVD but deffo not one for the faint hearted or a beginner.

A Must Have Exercise DVD
Do this DVD after the 30 day shred which works your fitness up to the level needed for this one. It is an amazing workout. It's very hard but is well worth it so keep at. It incorporates lots of different moves that I've never come across in other DVD's so it's something a bit different. My body is in much better shape after doing this and my family and friends can see the results too. This and the 30 day shred have definitely got me in better shape than going to the gym would have ever done, so I'll be ready to put my bikini on next month on my honeymoon. No pain no gain definitely applies to this fitness DVD. You will ache everyday but at least you know it's working. I have become slightly addicted to doing Jilian Michaels DVD's now. If you want to work hard for the body you've always wanted, get this DVD.

Good, but not great!
As a massive Jillian Michaels fan (I pretty much own them all, inc US exports) I was a little disappointed with this DVD. She's set the bar pretty high with all her others, so if you are new to her, this might seem fantastic. Pros I like the whole 45 minute workout format - it's long enough to feel like you are working out, but not too long that you put off doing it! She introduces new moves into the mix Level 1&2 are challenging individually (I've not had the time yet to do them combined) Cons She's not so great on the 'teacher mode'. Punch sequences can at times be quick, with poor camera shots and little vocal help, I found myself a little lost. She gives you the option to add weights second time round. I know that as you get more familiar with the DVD, you may remember, but I have done loads of her DVD'S multiple times and am always happy to be prompted! It lacks a little in the cardio - I did not feel myself in her words 'gargling my heart'. I personally felt the need for a little more cardio. Overall it is a nice change, but if you are new to Jillian, this isn't her best. Sorry Jillian (I still love you!)You are also going to need some weights!

I so wanted to love this......but cant quite!
I had really high hopes for this one - I've pretty much already got the full JM collection and thought this would be another high octane addition to it - it only half delivered for me. The format is as it says on the box - two workouts (claimed to be 45 mins each but without the warmup/cooldown they're only just over 30 min) level one and level two with the option to do them both back to back. I'm going to start by saying that I'm looking at this from a fitter persons point of view (if you're an exercise newbie then consider this a 5 star DVD and get cracking!!!!) and having both 30 Day shred and ripped in 30 and having reached the stage where I link levels 1,2 and 3 of 30 DS and tend to do 3 levels of ripped in 30 together - this was the standard I was looking for here - more of a BFBM or No more Trouble zones longer but intense workout. The format is ccts around 6 minutes long, (30 secs each of 5 different exercises then repeated to make up a cct)and for most of the ccts they consist of a couple of cardio intervals (whether they be kickboxing style kicks, punch combos, plyometrics (jumps) or calisthenics (jacks,butt kicks etc)) and a couple of toning exercises (mostly without weights - but adding weight to make them harder) and a core/yoga/pilates style of movement. Level 1 has me a little confused, it doesn't quite hit the mark with the cardio as 30 seconds just isn't long enough to get you gasping however hard you work, then there's a much slower move following the cardio that isn't quite hard enough (no matter how much you push it with the weights) to be strength work. As ever with Jillian there are some great original takes on some old classics as well as some combat moves thrown in for variety so level one is a fun workout and the time flies - my gripe - I come out of it having barely broken sweat (and I never thought I'd say that about a JM workout!!!!) Level 2 is a whole different ball game - there are some tough (and a couple of whacky contortionistic moves to get your body round - a rolling plank pressup as an example that had me in a complete tangle!!!) The cardio isn't much more intense than level 1 but there is a lot of quite tricky core work in here that will get you breathing harder and sweating freely. Again it is fun and the time vanishes. When you link the two workouts, it takes around an hour and 15 min with the WU and CD, the time goes quick and you will work up a sweat, but for me you just don't quite end up with that traditional wiped out, OMG that was a great work out feeling you usually get from Jillian. (Or maybe I'm just a lot fitter now?????) Think that level one is perfect for a beginner who can work up to level two (quite a big gap between them) but for fitsters who want a hard cardio blast or a big strength workout it just doesn't quite hit the mark, its toning with a bit of core and cardio thrown in!

If you are already a fan of Jillian Michaels then you will love love love this DVD. I think the title "Extreme" might be slightly misleading as anyoone who is at the tope of their fitness and can do a couple of Jillian's workouts back to back then areobically you will not find this more challenging than any other of her DVD's BUT saying that I just loved this DVD, and I had the most fun I have ever had during a Jillian workout, usually you dont have the time to breathe or think about whether its fun or not, its just GO GO GO !! The description of 2 x 45 minute workouts is rubbish, it's 2 x 1/2 hour workouts but they are meant to be done together for a longer workout but if you are beginner I would only start with level 1 !! You need to work up to Jillian's workouts ! So aerobically this might not appear more challenging than her other workouts but strength wise, this is awesome and after doing this workout both levels back to back for the first time the next day my butt and core hurt, so I know it works, and thats after spending a year doing Jillian's other workouts including six week six pack (ignore that title too :-) for over a year now !! I couldnt recommend this highly enough for those days when you dont want to go so insane with your workout but you want a longer and more FUN workout. I love this DVD and I adore Jillian Michael's, she has transformed my body and my mind :-)

If you’re willing to do the work – Jillian is absolutely amazing at creating workouts that sculpt your body
This is another great Jillian Michaels workout DVD that I highly recommend. I had lost count of how many times I had done the 30-Day Shred, so it was time to try something else. Wow - these workouts are serious (especially Level 2). If you’ve done the 30-Day Shred, then the Extreme Shed & Shred workouts are definitely manageable and they help mix things up and keep you motivated. These two workouts are great for improving cardio, strength, balance and coordination -- they also give you a real sense of accomplishment at the end of each workout session - you do feel stronger! As usual, there’s a lot of variety in terms of difficulty – some exercises I love, and others I am literally counting down the seconds to get done. One thing is always true: if I just put on my workout clothes, head to my mat and turn on Jillian’s DVD, she really knows how to keep me motivated. The ladies are all so incredibly fit (Basheera!) it’s impossible not to be inspired. I stick with Jillian because she helps me to see results FAST and that’s something I need in order to stay enthusiastic about working out regularly.

Ottimo dvd
I dvd sono perfetti e si leggono con un qualsiasi lettore dvd, non si bloccano mai. Che dire di Jillian...beh, è una garanzia! Seguirla è piacevole e divertente, ti sprona un sacco a mettercela tutta! Gli esercizi sono facili da seguire, ma allo stesso tempo sono veramente impegnativi: quando ho finito la sessione sono stanchissima, più di quando seguivo i corsi in palestra! Begli esercizi che alternano fasi aerobiche a fasi di potenziamento, che ormai si sa che è il modo di procedere che fa dimagrire più di tutti. Un altro punto importantissimo per me: la comodità di fare ginnastica a casa; torno da lavoro, mi metto quattro stracci comodi e faccio subito ginnastica. Altro che portar via la borsa di palestra, vestiti, farsi la doccia via, rifare la borsa per venire a casa, ri-disfare la borsa coi vestiti sudati...due ore risparmiate ogni volta!!

Jillian BRINGS IT w/fresh moves - Butt-kicking Workout!
I am a HUGE fan of Jillian Michaels. I love her style of workouts and I own ALL of her DVDs, unless there are some out there that I don't know about yet! I ordered this DVD as soon as it was available for pre-order on Amazon and waited on pins & needles for it to arrive! As soon as it arrived in the mail, I sat down & watched the whole DVD - Level 1, Level 2, and then the Level 1&2 together option. Wow! I couldn't wait to try it! I did Level 1 on Tues (day before yesterday) and, like a lot of others, I found that it was not as hard as I had expected. Jillian says in the beginning, 'We're gonna have fun with this workout' and she was right! It was VERY different - lots of new moves, a few old moves revamped, and a mix of moves from yoga & various martial arts. It was challenging, but not so much so that it was overwhelming. I thoroughly enjoyed it! I did Level 2 this morning and...wow...! It wasn't quite as cardio-intensive as some of her other workouts (something that some folks have complained about here in the reviews section) but there are definitely cardio intervals and the strength moves are HARD...VERY challenging! I even found a couple of the static poses to be pretty tough. I usually find myself doing intermediate versions of her exercises; sometimes I can even do the advanced versions. In THIS workout, I was doing mostly the beginner versions. No problem though - it gives me plenty to work toward! Now that I've done both levels, I'm thinking that Level 1 is probably signicantly easier than Level 2 because she wants us to do them back-to-back. If Level 1 was off-the-charts hard, not many people would do that. For both workouts, I have to say that, even though they are quite a bit longer that her other recent workouts, the time went FAST! If I was able to change just one thing about this DVD, I'd like to see different warm-ups & cool downs for Level 1 & Level 2, and a third different (extended) warm-up & cool down for the bad asses who do the Level 1 & 2 together option! (On a Side note: I was surprised to find that the side plank crunches (in Level 1) were not as hard as I thought they'd be...probably because of those side plank knee raises from 6 week 6 pack, which were really hard for me at first but are getting progressively easier the more I do that workout! Thanks, Jillian!) All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this workout & it will definitely be a regular in my workout schedule...along w/30-Day Shred, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, No More Trouble Zones, Shred it w/Weights, Yoga Meltdown, 6 week 6 pack, Ripped in 30, Killer Buns & Thighs, and the Biggest Winner 5-DVD set: Shape of Up Front, Shape Up Back, Full Frontal, Back in Action, and Cardio Kickbox!

ジリアンのDVDで買うのはこれが3つ目です。3回ぐらいやりました。レベル1(40分位)、レベル2(50分位)、レベル1+2(約80分)の中から選べます。 ジリアン・マイケルズの脂肪撃退プログラム [DVD ]はジャンプも多いし有酸素系の運動が殆どなので息が上がるのに対し、こちらはヨガや太極拳の動きもあり、片足でずっと立ち続けたり、一つのポーズを30秒ぐらい続けたりするので、丁寧にすると体幹鍛えられる感じです。(あまり疲れないのは、まだ一つ一つの動きをきちんとマスターできていないからかもしれませんが。)前述したDVDや ジリアン・マイケルズのダンベル・ダイエット [DVD ]ができている人なら、このDVDのレベル1はちょっと物足りないかもしれませんが、こっちの方が振動の心配も少ないし、一つ一つの動きをしっかりできるようになれば、本当に「強い・芯のある」体が作れそうです。走り回る動きがあるので、マットも広げておかないといけないし、他のDVDよりちょっと広めのスペースが必要です。
