After not seeing this film for many years (I rented it a long time ago from a video store yeah.. the good old days) the film still holds up very well and it's a classic. It's from that 70s era Scorsese movies Taxi Driver being my favorite. Very nice quality as expected from Criterion. Must buy if you like classic films for your collection

GREAT SCORSESE CURTAIN RAISER
Although not up to his later gangster films Mean Streets obviously marked new ground for the genre. A very gritty character study of a number of low life hoodlums, superbly acted and incisively directed. There's not much to the story line, but the pace and grittiness reminded me of John Cassavetes with a bit more bite. A great preview of what was later to come from Scorsese.

Wow, it looks the way it did back in 1973. The retro colors really pop out, along with the facial and setting details.

This is an amazing movie
Great movie directed by Martin Scorsese and De Niro and Kietel were amazing in there Characters all the scenes were amazing in the Bronx and Brooklyn little Italy for a 1973 movie the 4K remaster was really good.🇮🇹👍
