Megan can go for walks in daylight again!
Megan has been having the 'attacks' in the video while walking in daylight, but she's fine in fading light and at night. Vet has given no explanation for them, so foeced to find my own solution I thought this for £10 was worth a try. It arrived today and although she initially tried to get it off she settled down after a couple of minutes. The mask looks solid black but you can see through it, and the muzzle is flexible enough that she can still drink. She went over front door step with no hesitation, and walked in shade and bright sun with no issues at all. She can see where she's going (even at 14yrs) and still happy to sniff around the ground as normal, so doesn't seem to bother her at all. I've gone for XL because of the size around her mouth, even though the straps around get neck will need shortening a bit. One day might not seem a long enough trial, but she's not be able to go out like this for quite some time.

Blocks 100% of light
I get the idea and, per one of the listing’s images, this is supposed to be semi transparent under strong light, right? Well ours blocks 100% of light. If I hold a flashlight up behind it NO light comes through. So it makes any dog utterly blind. My guess is their manufacturer started using the wrong fabric and their quality control doesn’t exist. Am returning.

It helps my pup in the car
My GSD puppy is extremely reactive to pedestrians, motorcycles, and flashing lights on the road. He'll go off barking like crazy at them and sounds ferocious. This cap helps him by preventing him fixating on taking in everything around him and getting overwhelmed. He usually just lays down now in the car and seems to chill out more than before. It's not a fix-all solution though. He'll still react to the occasional stimulus. But it makes it easier to train those instances instead of being bombarded with reactivity back-to-back while driving. The one thing I'll note is that I bought an XL because I heard these run small, but I should've gotten an L. It's a little big on my pup (75 lbs) but because he doesn't try to pull it off, it's not a big deal.

Has potential
Easy to put on, I thought it was going to be a debacle. I just gave my dog a ton of treats through the snout hole and again while he wears it on his face so he’s pretty jazzed to see it now. He can’t see great while wearing it…kind of the idea, but he still can somewhat see. It’s like two ply gym short material. I’m going to try it in the car just to get my dog to calm down from being so overstimulated. I think with tenacity a dog can paw this off on their own if you aren’t keeping an eye on them. An interesting product worth trying.
