If you're looking for a budget-friendly alternative to a Battery Tender or NOCO, this NEXPEAK unit holds its own. WOW! Premium Function at a bargain price. I have a garage full of toys that have batteries, motorcycles, scooters, ATVs, etc... For years I have used only Battery Tender® products and they work well, however a few had died after years of service. I bought a smaller amperage Charger/Maintainer and my Harley-Davidson Pan America ate-it-up & it died. I replaced it with this and it's worked flawlessly. I was so impressed, I bought a 2nd for my INDIAN Road Master. I really like the LCD screen - it's a great 'visual' to see battery level & voltage versus only a small light like many other models. It charges pretty fast - and once the battery is fully charged, it switches 'OFF' to Maintainer mode.

The tender works good on a working battery. Background, my battery was at it's end life when I bought this unit. My previous tender stopped working two or three weeks prior to purchasing which caused my battery to unexpectedly not hold a charge or hold up for a jump. Initially after buying it seemed the unit was not registering my battery as advertised. After reaching out to the seller and explained the situation, I was getting ready to return the unit since it seemed faulty out of the box. After jump starting the car failed with a known good jump box, I had the battery tested and it was determined the battery was past it's expiration. Since replacing the battery, the unit register's the battery as expected and has been trickle charging without an issue since. It connects and plugs in quickly. Switching between modes is as easy as the press of the button and hadn't had an issue since the battery was replaced. I have been using this for several months and it seems to be holding up well to the elements. I still have yet to try it in cold weather but seems to be holding up well so gar with the weather.

As a mechanic I've been using a Nexpeak OBD2 scanner for years and it's been great. When it was time to replace my $10 Harbor Freight trickle charger for something nicer this was an obvious choice for only $5 more. The built in battery indicator screen is nice to have and the fact it has auto safety features as well as multiple modes are some nice things to have. Using it to maintain my AGM Harley battery and I have no doubt this thing will last for years. Its well built and the hard wired pigtails can be left on my battery and simply unplugged form the unit and tucked away when I want to ride. I had an old Harley brand trickle charger with the same pigtail/plug that died years ago but always left that wiring attached to my battery. Its not exactly the same shape as the plug included with this charger but the polarity is the same and it fits just fine to connect with this charger. Buy with confidence, its easy to use and charges quickly for such a compact unit. Not as fast as a full size charging box but thats not what this is designed to do in the first place. I haven't tested its ability to bring an old battery back to life but based on their other products I've used I see no reason it wouldn't work as long as the old battery isnt completely beyond repair.
