New bite valve is superior
Osprey released this new style of bite valve in 2023 without any fanfare and now the old valves and replacement sheaths are not available. Fortunately, this new bite valve is superior to the old one, because you can operate the shutoff one-handed. I've heard that the valve lever can break off, and it looks like the small protrusion could get snagged. Maybe, but it's still better, and cheap and easy to replace, so I bought 3 of these valves and replaced all my old ones. A worthwhile upgrade.

Very happy with product
So much better than replacing the whole bag, considering the cost savings and economics. It was easy to install. It fits perfectly and works as it should.

great replacement valve
great replacement valve for our osprey pack. The bladder itself is still in good condition but part of the valve broke. Happy to be able to replace just the valve.

Fits CamelBak mule
I got this to replace my son's (age 6) valve on his CamelBak mule bag. It seems to fit fine on the original CamelBak hose. We've used it on one MTB ride so far with no leaking issues. It's a way better valve than the original. I left the bladder out in the sun for a while and was able to just pull off the old valve and put in the new, and then put it back in the freezer. I was expecting a bigger struggle to make the switch.

Not compatible with older Osprey hydration packs
Be aware that this Osprey Bite Valve is not a replacement for older Osprey hydration packs. I purchased it to replace a leaking bite valve on my pack, but the new valve is noticeably different. The new bite valve is smaller overall, and the tube attachment is approximately 1 mm narrower in diameter, so it does not fit properly. It also does not include the magnetic attachment that was present on the original valve.
