My friend’s work is maintaining pools and he is the most meticulous person I know recommended this product. He was right. It works so much better than many others. If you have an algae problem that won’t go away with tons of chlorine try this. I use it weekly until I get control.

In southwest Florida we have a time do the year when yellow algae was always growing in the pool. Finally figured out if you control the phosphates you don’t need the yellow treatments that are expensive and a pain and usually a several week adventure to get rid of the yellow algae. This is my favorite brand. I add about 3 oz every week usually. I do test for phosphates when I test which is 1-4 weeks (depending on rain or not) and add what is recommended if more than 3 oz. Even if it doesn’t say I need it from the test I still add it. The pool clouds a little so you know right away it’s working. Let it run for a while, it says 24 hours but I just keep my regular schedule and by next day cleared up. Definitely worth the cost and prevention.

This is a fantastic product. It lasts for years. I discovered an old bottle of this that is 10+ years left from the previous owner of my house, and the small amount left totally cleared up my pool and algae problem. So I bought another one and use very sparingly, and a gallon should last me another 10+ years. I did try another product (also expensive) over the last year or two that did not do much. Go with this stuff even if you are a small pool homeowner. If you live in south east US you probably have a lot of phosphate in your water like us and need this stuff, not just chlorination.
