ZAGG XTR3 Glass iPhone 15 Pro Screen Protector

Arguably better than any other ‘glass’ screen protector currently available, imho. Although, I don’t know exactly how protective this year’s version is. One negative: The plastic tab to remove the film during the application process, broke during the application. But I was still able to apply the screen protector w/o any air bubbles, so it’s still 5-stars from me (the instructions and rest of the included applying-accessories worked great). Highly recommended.

I've been using Zagg screen protectors for as long as I can remember. I bought this one because it seemed to be the upgrade to the version I kept on my iPhone 16 Pro. Read the installation instructions BEFORE messing with anything. Everything happens in the tray, which seems to be some fiber material instead of plastic, which is environmentally responsible, which I like. The included wipes and stuff are the same as everyone else gives you. Wipe the phone, set the phone in the tray, pull the tab, press and hold for 5 seconds. How easy is that?! The screen protector essentially disappears on the phone and there are no real artifacts from anything I've noticed just yet. The quality is incredible and the appearance is as Apple intended. To touch on the expensive as mentioned in my title, the benefit is Zagg honors their warranties no questions asked. If your screen protector breaks, go back to Zagg and order a replacement.

This screen protector started out promising because the fit was actually very good. It covered the screen nicely from edge to edge and lined up properly without any obvious gaps or sizing problems. I also thought the installation process was easy. It came with the accessories needed to put it on, and the setup felt straightforward rather than frustrating. Right after installation, I noticed one bubble, but that cleared up on its own after a couple of days, which has been my experience with some other screen protectors too. Unfortunately, the good first impression did not last very long. The biggest problem was durability. In my case, the glass cracked after only about three weeks of use, which was far sooner than I expected. I have two kids, so my phone definitely gets handled roughly and tossed around more than it should, but that is exactly why I care so much about having a reliable screen protector in the first place. I know nothing is unbreakable, but I expected something better than this given how it is marketed. What made this more disappointing is that I have used other screen protectors in the same household conditions, and they held up much longer. Before this one, I had been using Flolab, and those usually lasted closer to six months before cracking. That is a major difference for me. Under real everyday use, this one just did not seem nearly as durable. If your phone stays in perfect condition all day, your experience may be different, but for a busy household this did not hold up the way I wanted it to. The other issue was even more frustrating because it seemed to affect how the phone functioned. After I installed this protector, the ambient light sensor appeared to stop working properly. My phone stopped automatically adjusting brightness when moving between bright and dark environments. That became annoying fast because auto brightness is one of those features you do not think about until it stops working. I found myself having to adjust the brightness manually much more often, which made everyday use less convenient. For me, that was a serious drawback. A screen protector should not interfere with basic phone behavior. Even though the fit was correct and installation was simple, I do not think those positives make up for the fact that it cracked quickly and seemed to interfere with the brightness sensor. The protector looked good when first applied and sat properly on the phone, but performance over time matters a lot more to me than the first few days. I would not buy this one again. The edge-to-edge fit was fine, the included accessories made installation easy, and the small bubble disappeared on its own, but the short lifespan and sensor issue were too big to ignore. Based on my experience, I would not recommend it.

Installation was way easier than I thought. The alignment frame helped a lot, and I didn’t have to fight with bubbles like I usually do. It lined up pretty much perfectly on the first try. Once it’s on, you barely notice it. The screen still looks clear and touch response feels the same as without a protector. The surface is really smooth too — your finger just glides across it, which actually makes scrolling feel nicer than the bare screen. One thing I appreciated more than expected is the EyeSafe feature. I spend a lot of time on my phone at night, and the screen feels a little easier on my eyes without making everything look yellow. I often got headaches or slight pressure around my eyes but since I started to use the screen protector, it went away. Update: I honestly lost count of how many times I’ve dropped my phone, but after about a month of use, the screen protector finally got a crack, a little over an inch long. It’s not serious damage though — the crack isn’t deep and hardly noticeable to the point it’s not worth my time to practice the warranty on it. All of the drops happened indoors at home, mostly onto tile or wooden floors, and nothing directly hit the screen besides the floor itself. Considering that, I’d say it held up pretty well and likely did its job protecting the actual screen underneath. Although it doesn’t seem quite as durable as Apple’s original screen, I’d still choose this protector again. The EyeSafe feature alone is a huge plus for me, and knowing there’s a warranty gives some extra peace of mind.

This is my second Zagg protector, and it’s easily the best one I've owned. Installation was a breeze right out of the box on my new iPhone 18 Pro Max. I upgrade every year, so keeping the screen in pristine condition is vital for maximizing my trade-in value. My last one for the iPhone 17 Pro Max held up perfectly for a full year and peeled off effortlessly. Definitely worth the investment!

The screen protector is well made and the process to apply it is very easy and reliable for a neat and clean installation. I rated the product a 4 instead of a 5 since my screen protector cracked after 2 months of use. Zagg does offer a lifetime free replacement (customer pays shipping cost) and the process to request a a new screen is simple if you registered your purchase. I’m hopeful the new screen will be more reliable- if not, I will come back and modify this review. I would also note that I have been using screen protectors for the last ten years or so and this is only the second time I cracked my screen. I point this out because I’m not tough on my phones. I take good care of them so I’m a little concerned why this cracked. I did not have any serious drops with my phone that made me question my screen.

This product is exceptionally well made and offers outstanding value for the price. The quality of the materials and craftsmanship is evident from the moment you use it, and its performance exceeds expectations in every way. It delivers reliability, durability, and results that are hard to match, making it one of the better purchases I have made. For the quality and performance you receive, it is truly an excellent value.

1 Star — Extremely disappointed with ZAGG’s flagship protector I’ve been a ZAGG customer for more than 15 years and have used InvisibleShield products since the iPhone 4S. I specifically bought the Glass XTR5 for my iPhone 17 Pro because it is ZAGG’s top-of-the-line screen protector, and I expected a premium product. Unfortunately, my experience has been very disappointing. My XTR5 was only about two weeks old when my phone took a very minor drop from less than waist height. I’m 5’11½”, so this was not a significant fall. The phone was completely fine. The case was completely fine. The XTR5, however, cracked badly across the screen and began splintering to the point that it needed to be removed. Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated incident. My wife also had an XTR5 on her iPhone 17 Pro, and hers cracked after a similarly minor drop. Again, the phone and case were completely unaffected while the supposedly premium screen protector became unusable. I understand that tempered glass can break when it absorbs an impact. I understand that a screen protector is sacrificial. I’m not expecting any protector to remain perfect forever, and I have no problem with normal scratches or wear. My problem is that a $55 premium screen protector became unusable from a very ordinary, minor drop. What makes this particularly frustrating is that I previously used ZAGG’s older HDX film protectors for years. They accumulated scratches and imperfections, but they remained functional and continued protecting the phone. That’s the durability I came to associate with InvisibleShield. After both XTR5 protectors failed within roughly two weeks, I decided to try a flexible TPU film protector instead. So far, it feels much more like the old HDX product I remember. I did contact ZAGG about the issue, and I appreciate that they honored the warranty. However, I still had to pay $10.69 in shipping and handling for each replacement. More importantly, a warranty replacement doesn’t address my concern: I have very little confidence that the replacement XTR5 will survive another ordinary drop without cracking. For a $55 flagship screen protector, I expected significantly better durability in everyday use. After more than 15 years of being a ZAGG customer, this experience has seriously shaken my confidence in the brand. If you’re looking for a protector that can take a minor drop without becoming a shattered, unusable mess, I would think carefully before spending $55 on the XTR5.

Great product and easy to installk.

I’ve installed many screen protectors both with and without alignment systems. I followed the directions explicitly and the screen protector was definitely not aligned and had to pull it off and do it manually. Some bubbles remained, but I was eventually able to work them out with the cloth, I think. If overtime this performs as advertised, I’ll update my review.
