A Smart Tracker Marvel with Minor Sound Caveats
I recently acquired the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2, and it has proven to be an exceptional addition to my tech arsenal. Here's a detailed breakdown of my experience: Ease of Setup: 5/5 Setting up the SmartTag2 was a breeze. Within minutes, I had it seamlessly connected to my phone. The user-friendly setup process makes it an excellent choice for both tech-savvy users and beginners. Price: 5/5 The pricing for this tracker is reasonable, especially considering the absence of monthly subscriptions that some other brands impose. It offers great value for those looking for an efficient tracking solution without breaking the bank. Smart Features: 5/5 The SmartTag2's smart features are a game-changer. With three programmable buttons, I can easily locate my phone with a double tap. The other two buttons are customizable – I use one to control my smart lights, ensuring a well-lit home upon my arrival, and the other to send a quick message to my wife, notifying her that I'm on my way home. Sound: 3/5 While the SmartTag2's sound feature is functional, it's not particularly loud. In crowded environments, it may pose challenges in locating the tracker. However, in more confined spaces like my home, it works decently when I misplace my keys. Reliability: 5/5 So far, I've been extremely happy with the reliability of finding lost items using the SmartTag2. I use it on my keys, and I receive a notification when my phone gets too far from the tag. Remarkably, even when I go to get my mail from my mailbox, it regularly notifies my phone that the tag has left the area. Additionally, the tag can ring my phone when I misplace it. Overall Impression: The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 has been a reliable and innovative companion. Its ease of setup, affordable pricing, and versatile smart features make it a top-notch choice for anyone seeking an efficient tracking solution without the hassle of monthly subscriptions.

Never Lose Your Keys Again
There's nothing more frustrating than spending twenty minutes searching for your keys when you're already running late. This SmartTag2 has completely eliminated that problem for me. It's a simple device that does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it does it really well. The tracking accuracy is impressive. When you use the app to find your tagged item, it gives you directions and shows how far away you are. As you get closer, the signal gets stronger, and you can trigger the SmartTag to make a sound. The sound is loud enough to hear even if your keys are buried in a couch cushion or under some papers. The whole process of locating something takes seconds instead of minutes. Setup was incredibly easy. You just open the SmartTag in the app, press the button, and it pairs with your phone automatically. The whole process takes maybe thirty seconds. Once it's connected, it shows up in your SmartThings app alongside any other Samsung devices you have. The interface is clean and intuitive – you can see all your tags at once and tap any of them to start tracking. Battery life is excellent. These run on standard replaceable batteries that last for months. When the battery gets low, the app notifies you, so you're never caught off guard. Being able to replace the battery yourself rather than having to buy a whole new tracker is both economical and environmentally friendly. The battery compartment is easy to access, and swapping in a new battery takes just a moment. The build quality feels solid. It's compact and lightweight, but it doesn't feel fragile or cheap. The button on the front has a good tactile response, and the whole unit feels like it can handle being on a keychain and getting jostled around daily. It's got some weather resistance too, so you don't have to worry about it getting caught in the rain. The range on the Bluetooth connection is better than I expected. You can locate items from a decent distance away, and the connection stays stable. If you do go out of range, the app shows you the last known location on a map, which is incredibly helpful if you left something at a friend's house or in your car. One of the coolest features is the lost mode. If you can't find your item and you're not near it, you can mark it as lost in the app. Then, if any other Samsung device comes near your SmartTag, you'll get an anonymous notification with its location. Given how many Samsung phones are out there, this network effect makes it much more likely you'll recover lost items. You can also use the SmartTag to find your phone. Just double-press the button on the tag, and your phone will ring even if it's on silent. This has saved me countless times when I've misplaced my phone somewhere in the house. It's a simple feature, but it works perfectly and gets used all the time. The attachment options are practical. It's got a hole for a keyring that's sized right – not so big that it looks awkward, but large enough to fit standard keyrings and attachments easily. The tag sits flat on a keychain without adding a lot of bulk. You barely notice it's there until you need it. Integration with Samsung's ecosystem is seamless. If you've already got Samsung devices, this just works with everything you have. The SmartThings app becomes your central hub for finding all your stuff. You can even set up automation with other smart home devices if you want to get creative. The precision finding works really well when you're close to your item. The app switches to a more detailed view that shows you the direction and distance, helping you zero in on exactly where something is. It's like a metal detector for your keys, and it makes finding things quick and frustration-free. For the price, this is an outstanding value. You're getting reliable tracking technology that actually works consistently. When you consider how much time it saves and how much peace of mind it provides, it's easily worth the investment. Losing important items is stressful, and this completely eliminates that stress. If you're someone who frequently misplaces things or just wants the security of being able to track important items, the SmartTag2 is a must-have. It's reliable, easy to use, and it genuinely solves the problem it's designed to address. I can't imagine going back to not having these on my important items.

Much better tracking than the Pebblebee tracker! But a new version is needed!
I have a few of these and also a Pebblebee tracker. These are really easy to connect to and set up with a Samsung device. The connect very well with Samsung Find, but they do not work with Googles "Find My" network, instead these are completely locked to Samsung's ecosystem.. I own both a Pixel and Samsung, so this is definitely a flaw. Apparently there is a workaround from a project on Github called "uTag" which is "an Android app and mod for Samsung SmartThings which allows the use of Samsung SmartTags on non-Samsung Android devices running Android 11 or above. No root needed". I don't know if I can link the project on here, but it should pop up with a quick Google search When compared to my Pebblebee tracker, the SmartTag is so much more accurate. The SmartTag2 came out in October 2023, it's now May 2026 nearly 3 years later and there still isn't a new version. Apple just released the 2nd Gen Airtag which has upgrades like "50% greater Precision Finding range, a 50% louder speaker, and an upgraded Bluetooth chip for better tracking." Samsung needs to come out with a 3rd Generation of this with updated BT 6.0 for better accuracy. And the ability to add to Android's Find My Device network!!

Works well, convenient size
This tag works well and is a nice compact size. I attached it to my son's bike in case it gets stolen. I taped it under the seat, so maybe I will have a clue if it goes missing. The real Samsung one wasn't much more than the generic tags.

Found Lost Keys in a Factory...Locating Not Perfect...Well Worth Money Spent
Lost my keys in a factory, I was able to drive around on a scooter until i pinged a rough location, Zeroing in on my keys was not real intuitive with the compass icon in the app. Just move slowly in a circle until it gives footage readout, then you can easily zero in on it's location. People are confused that this smartTag2 works off Bluetooth from theirs and other peoples Samsung phones ,not GPS. I also use the smartTag2 to turn the outside lights of my home when i push the smartTag2 button. I rated 4.5 stars, and rounded up because finding my keys once lost was well worth the money spent.

They work well!
I was sceptible at first but now I'm a believer. Theyre great for finding items close by but recently it was put to a real test. We recently traveled from Singapore to Amsterdam via Dubai and checked our bags through. When we arrived in Amsterdam it looked like my bag didn't make the trip in that everybody else - including my wife- had claimed their bags. I remembered that I had put a tag in my suitcase so I did a "find". I really didn't expect any useful results but to my surprise it indicated my suitcase was at the Amsterdam airport. A few minutes later my lonely bag showed up on the belt. I would have rated 5 stars, but one of the four in the pack didn't work/pair and I didn't realize until after the return window closed. I guess Samsung would replace, but I'm sure the process to pursue that wouldn't be worth the efort and I wouldn't know how or where to start.
