KAVU Original Rope Sling Bag Polyester Crossbody Backpack

I bought this bag in 2020 after starting a new job. It ended up becoming my everyday bag. Sleek over the shoulder design with a clasp means I’m always readily available and not weighed down by my pack. Versatile for my shift from the factory to my free time at the rivers. Roomy enough to fit a medium size change of clothes. Good quality as the fabric hasn’t rot or ripped or even faded, the zippers don’t get stuck or break mid pull. My husband has commandeered this bag and claimed it as his own, so I may get another soon.

While I never carry a traditional purse, I do always carry some type of bag when I travel which is frequent enough for me to have a large collection of small messengers and backpacks. I had been eyeing this bag for a long time in my local outfitters but the price was too high for me to justify it until my last trip. I was traveling light so I needed something for airport land (travel docs, phone, carry on fun, snacks, etc), walking around towns, and dayhikes. After the week trip, I am so love in love with this bag I now carry it daily. The sling setup for me is so convenient and let's not gloss over the obvious that the sling is made of rope so for those of us that climb or cave it makes it extra fun - even had a number of fellas comment on the "coolness" of that. I wear it tight to my body so it doesn't easily shift other than when I want it to. Just swing it around and grab what I need. I love the pocket layout as well. The small one carries chapsticks and small items. The larger front zip handles the phone, my large ecig, extra batteries, and sometimes my keys. One pocket seems slightly larger and that holds my large wallet, food, tablet, stuff for the dog, hand wipes, medicine, etc. Your daily use stuff. The other pocket I use for whatever my task is that day and a water bottle or I carry clothes in it. I have fit a surprising amount of clothing in there. The bag at first glance does not look like it will hold all this but a clever design makes it work. I never feel like I have a big bag on and it never feels heavy. It feels high quality and I love that the fabric is good at sloughing off dirt and debris picked up on the streets and trails. I suppose one day I'll have to wash it but I have a feeling that's a long way off. My only regret is not picking this up sooner. One downside is if you have a very small frame like myself. I have the strap pulled all the way in. It fits great there but you have to bundle up all the tail. Thankfully there's a little spandex holder that keeps it neat. I worry about this breaking though. I can always just lop it off and recreate the spandex thing to the best of my ability but I wish the excess strap storage would have been dealt with a little differently as still sometimes the holder lets loose and I have a foot or so of webbing flopping in the wind. Other than that, no complaints.

The color, the style, size, storage capacity, functionality, comfort and the price are all perfect for me!

I really like this bag. It holds a lot of stuff and I normally wear it kind of like a back pack. It's good quality,size and durable.

This bag is the perfect travel bag for all my essentials (and more) for my upcoming Disneyland trip! The rope strap is so comfortable and durable even when the bag is stuffed. I love the two different main zippered compartments as it helps me organize my necessities and allows for easy access. I am a fan of kavu and this is the second one I’ve owned. It is a very functional bag and even my first bag from years ago is still in good condition!! Will probably buy another when I’m wanting another color! :-)

I love this bag. It's not perfect. But the important parts are 1. It's cute. 2. I can do anything I want with my free hands. Free solo rock climbing, sword fighting, superhero vigilante-ing, unicycling while juggling, None of those things! But the point is I COULD because of this bag. And who knows? I might now that I'm not encumbered with a regular purse designed by the patriarchy to keep women from fighting crime and unicycling. But seriously I have kids and one is a toddler. I need three hands, really. There's a lot to love and some thing I would change if I had a hand in designing it, but overall it's a keeper. Pros: 1.LOOK at all the useless crap I can fit in this bag. And I never have trouble finding any of it, because it's packed flat, so nothing falls to the bottom. Even with all this stuff in here I could have probably added a hoodie an still had room. It's Like I'm Mary Poppins, y'all! 2. Hands-free as stated 3. It's bottom heavy so I can bend over without it falling down and smacking me in the back of my head. 4. It zips easily no matter how full I stuff it. And it opens almost completely so I can access larger items easily too. 5. The print on this bag might as well have been designed for me. And there are only 60,000 designs to choose from, so every person can have the most perfect bag for them. Cons: 1. There is no water bottle holder, and if I had gone with the Paxton rope bag, the placement of the water bottle holder would be at the bottom and upside down when you swing it around to the front. Sure, I don't always have a water bottle with me, but when I do, I'd like a place to put it so I can remain hands free, preferably not in the bag with stuff I don't want to spill my water all over. At that point, a water bottle holder does become imperative. All bags should have them. 2. The rope is not rough, per sé, but it's not soft. After several hours in the hot sun over the course of a few days, on bare skin, my shoulder has been getting a bit of a rope burn feel to it. I'll be getting a shoulder pad for it. 3. The placement of the bulky center pockets means when I swing it around to the front to access my useless junk, the secondary pocket is blocked from view. I have gotten pretty good at finding whatever I need by feeling for it, and like I said, everything remains exactly where I left it. There's a learning curve for finding my stuff, but there didn't need to be in the first place. 4. There's no grab handle. Makes it hard to hang it up at home or grab it from the back or the passenger seat of the car. Yeah I just hang it and grab it by the strap, but trust me, it's just not as functional a it could be.

Bag is great, however, it’s NOT the Kavu Rope Pack. It’s the Rope Sling - which is a completely different material. I was hoping for the Pack, but I like the pattern enough to keep this one. Great size and a true Kavu.

La bolsa está MUY bien hecha, los materiales son de calidad y se ve durable. La cuestión de no darle 5 estrellas, es que realmente el espacio de almacenaje es poco.
