Harrison Ford returns to the role of the legendary hero archaeologist for this fifth instalment of the iconic franchise. Starring along with Ford are Phoebe Waller-Bridge (โFleabagโ), Antonio Banderas (โPain and Gloryโ), John Rhys-Davies (โRaiders of the Lost Arkโ), Shaunette Renee Wilson (โBlack Pantherโ), Thomas Kretschmann (โDas Bootโ), Toby Jones (โJurassic World: Fallen Kingdomโ), Boyd Holbrook (โLoganโ), Oliver Richters (โBlack Widowโ), Ethann Isidore (โMortelโ) and Mads Mikkelsen (โFantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledoreโ). Directed by James Mangold (โLe Mans '66,โ โLoganโ), the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original "Raiders of the Lost Ark" in 1981, is once again composing the score. SPECIAL FEATURES: The Making of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: Chapters 1-5 Chapter 1 - Prologue, The Making of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: Chapters 1-5 Chapter 2 - New York, The Making of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: Chapters 1-5 Chapter 3 - Morocco, The Making of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: Chapters 1-5 Chapter 4 - Sicily, The Making of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: Chapters 1-5 Chapter 5 - Finale, Score-Only Version of the Movie LANGUAGE: 7.1 DTS-HDMA English / 5.1 Dolby Digital German / 2.0 Dolby Audio Described English / 7.1 Dolby Digital Plus Music Score SUBTITLES: English for the hearing impaired, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish Review: Entertaining. - Itโs a good film. Itโs not the best of the series, but itโs certainly not the worst. Plenty of action, humour and some very clever CGI. It kept me interested and engaged. This version is BluRay so it has excellent sharp and clear motion. Foreign languages are spoken at various points throughout the film so using the forced subtitles is an advantage. (E.g. the start of the film has a fair bit of German dialogue, and towards the end itโs Ancient Greek (I think). With the right setting, as theyโre forced subtitles they only appear when language other than English is used. Review: Top Indy - Very well done film. Old style Indy full of action. I liked the story, thought it was well conceived. The acting I thought was great all round. Phoebe and her character I thought were very good reminded me of Karen Allen in the original. All round a great adventure. I also felt it had a fitting end as I'm Not sure who could fill Harrison's shoes for any further adventures. Btw took a second viewing to come to this conclusion. Just like the others, should stand repeated viewings.

Think of Indiana Jones. Still think of four.
I'm surprised this film has received the overall positive reviews it has from Amazon customers, though they tend to be a generous bunch. Certainly it provides the locations and the chases and the fights and the peril, with the obligatory snatching of the relic, the prize, by the villain just as it is attained, which fans are accustomed to. And they will be pleased to see Harrison Ford back (he could hardly be replaced), and a limited appearance by John Rhys-Davies, who is great once again. Toby Jones and Antonio Banderas make their marks also in the few scenes they appear in. Certainly it's a big production, big-spend film, and John Williams provides further Indiana Jones franchise continuity with the musical score. Whilst there is much to enjoy, the enjoyment for me comes from picking out various performances (as mentioned) and scenes (I liked the underwater scene) and the visual spectacle. As for engaging in the story, being taken on a journey that you can believe in... That, I'm afraid, is where it falls short, even fails. Any film becomes a problem when you feel that the writers and director are making it up as they are going along, in fact when you become ultra-conscious of the hand (or several hands) of the film-makers, their manipulations, rather than being simply swept along on the journey. The wheels really fall off in the final act when Helena asks the child Teddy, who she has taken under her wing, whether he can fly one of those planes over there! And where they end up and how they end up there, and the historical character who just happens to be on the spot, is just nonsense. Not such a surprise, then (I didn't realise this until the end credits) that Spielberg was not the director, only a producer (with Lucas), though a bit surprising that Spielberg, and in particular Harrison Ford, went along with the plot. The old formula of the Nazis and the supernatural powers of the relic didn't work for me this time, though it might have with better writing (and ideally with different villains). Overall much to enjoy, as you would expect, but definitely an add-on to the four movies directed by Spielberg, falling short of being an integral part of the 'franchise'.
