Question 1

Without a shadow of a doubt, does this work flawlessly with windows 10 64bit? I had a i9-12900k that req windows 11 only

Accepted Answer

Greetings from Intel team,

Thank you for your question. The Intel® Core™ i9-14900K processor is compatible with Windows 10 64-bit. Unlike the i9-12900K, which has specific compatibility with Windows 11, the i9-14900K is designed to work seamlessly with Windows 10 64-bit. You can confidently use the i9-14900K on a Windows 10 system without any compatibility issues.

This information is based on Intel's official documentation, which confirms the compatibility of the i9-14900K with Windows 10 64-bit.

Question 2

Does this have integrated graphics? Description says it doesn't.

Accepted Answer

Greetings from Intel team,

Thank you for your question. The Intel® Core™ i9 processor 14900K does indeed come with integrated graphics. It is equipped with Intel® UHD Graphics 770, which provides integrated graphics capabilities. This means that the processor can handle graphics tasks without the need for a separate dedicated graphics card. While it's a powerful CPU, the integrated graphics are suitable for basic graphics tasks and can serve as a backup or for systems that don't require dedicated gaming or professional graphics capabilities.

Question 3

Socket Type? It says LGA 771? But cannot find a motherboard?

Accepted Answer

Greetings from Intel team,

Thank you for your question. The Intel Core i9-14900K processor uses the FCLGA1700 socket type, not LGA 771. LGA 771 is an older socket type and is not compatible with the Intel Core i9-14900K processor. To use the Intel Core i9-14900K, you should look for motherboards that specifically support the FCLGA1700 socket. Many motherboard manufacturers produce motherboards that are compatible with this socket type, and you can find a variety of options to choose from for your Intel Core i9-14900K processor.

When searching for a compatible motherboard, ensure that it mentions support for the FCLGA1700 socket in its specifications. This will ensure that the motherboard is compatible with your processor.

Question 4

Will this chip work with apple imac 27 2019 model?

Accepted Answer

Greetings from Intel team,

Thank you for your question. The Intel® Core™ i9-14900KF processor may not be compatible with the Apple iMac 27-inch 2019 model. The 2019 iMac uses a 9th generation Intel Core i9 processor (specifically, the I9-9900K) with eight cores. The Intel Core i9-14900KF is a newer processor with 24 cores (8 Performance Cores and 16 Efficiency Cores).

In general, upgrading the CPU in an iMac can be challenging and may not be supported by Apple. The motherboard and chipset of the iMac are designed to work with specific processors, and changing to a different CPU that was not originally designed for that system can lead to compatibility issues and potential hardware conflicts.

It's essential to check with Apple or consult an Apple-certified technician for specific compatibility information and potential CPU upgrades for your iMac. Upgrading a CPU in an iMac is not a straightforward process and can have risks, so it's essential to do it properly or consider other ways to boost the performance of your computer, such as upgrading RAM or using external GPUs if necessary.
