Way better than I thought it would be!
I’ll admit, I was a bit skeptical when I first picked up the Elegoo Mars Mate Air Purifier. I’ve been 3D printing for a while now, and like many, I’ve become pretty familiar with the less-than-pleasant odors that come with resin printing. I’ve tried a few different solutions, but none of them really lived up to the hype. That’s why I didn’t set my expectations too high for this one—but wow, was I wrong! First off, the setup is incredibly easy. It’s literally plug and play. I had it up and running within minutes, and the design is sleek enough that it doesn’t take up much space next to my printer. It’s also super quiet, which is a big plus because I usually have prints going overnight, and the last thing I need is extra noise. But the real magic? The air quality. I’m genuinely surprised at how effective this little device is at reducing those strong resin smells. After just a few minutes of running, I noticed a significant difference in the air around my workspace. It’s almost like the smell just disappears. I’ve been using it consistently for a few weeks now, and it’s made a huge difference. No more having to step outside to take a break from the fumes—this thing really gets the job done. Another bonus is the replaceable filter. It’s a thoughtful touch that extends the lifespan of the purifier, and replacements are easy to find and reasonably priced. If you’re on the fence about whether this will actually make a difference, I can confidently say it’s worth every penny. The Elegoo Mars Mate Air Purifier has exceeded my expectations, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking to improve their printing environment. It’s been a game-changer for me, and I’m glad I gave it a shot!

Doesn't remove odors!
Purchased this to ensure the air quality in our engineering department was safe when using a Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra SLA 3D printer. The odor or smell was stronger with this filter than without it. If your looking to remove the odor from your office this isn't the device. We do not recommend this for anyone, its a waste of money.

Works, but not as well as it should
I purchased the big dog : "ELEGOO Mars Mate" for my new Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra to replace my Halot One Pro. My Halot One Pro had a smaller, built-in filter & fan and worked a bit better than this external unit. The basis of this particular unit is noise reduction. This fan has a low CFM and barely pulls air from the printer itself. I removed the top of the Mars Mate to see if the fan would pick up more air or spin faster. It barely did. Yes, I made sure the large internal filter was not sealed in plastic prior to use - a LOT of buyers forget to look at this particular item for some reason. I do understand that maybe a higher CFM fan may cause issues within the printer and force ripples across the resin? I haven't tested that yet. So as others who have reviewed the same filter have stated, for the money, this item may not be worth it to you.

Gets rid of the smell
Very quiet in operation and stops the smell of certain resins. Works so good I bought two more.

Definitely helps, does not eliminate
I am very glad I bought this for my Saturn Ultra. The little usb filters could not possibly help. The thing to understand is that resin in an enclosed space *will* smell no matter what. This is not a replacement for proper ventilation per the resin manufacturer’s instructions. That said the VOC numbers in the room I was printing in were fantastic. Rather than being in triple digits/ppb - over 300/ppb observed - when the cover was open, during a 4-5 hour print it was in the low 80s/ppb. The biggest downfalls I see are filter life, filter availability, and fan speed. 1. Filters are recommended to be replaced every 2 months. Which leads into the next issue. 2. Filters can be purchased from the manufacturer, but not Amazon at the time of writing this review. The cost of these filters did give a bit of sticker shock as I was expecting a single filter. I was pleasantly surprised to receive 2 for the cost. 3. I wish the fan moved a bit more air. I didn’t design the device or use any fancy tools to measure efficacy, but I feel like if more resin air was passed through the filter less stink would get out. Overall, I’m very happy with the device, in my opinion it is a must have for resin because those fumes are no joke.

Not for Mars 3 or Mars 3 Pro
Despite being named the “Mars Mate,” this air filter doesn’t actually work with the majority of the Mars line. Confirm your printer has the hose attachment area on the hood before purchasing. I’m hoping to print an adapter. If that ends up working, I’ll come back and post a link to the print file.

Good system, but replacement filters are expensive
Works well. A major reduction in the smell of resin in our basement. The replacement filters are pricey (half the price of the unit, at around $100CDN) so that might be an issue for people living in an apartment. I plan on venting outside, but where I live (central Alberta, Canada) it gets down to -30 or colder in the winter, so venting out a window isn’t going to happen. But once I can vent outside I’ll use the air purifier less and save it for extreme temperatures (we get up to 35 Celcius sometimes in the summer, so massive temperature swings! I was able to mount the fixture to my printer no problem (removing back plate from laser was easy enough) and it is very easy to use. The replacement cost of filter is the only reason I gave it 4 stars (it’s not well advertised that you are recommended to replace the filter after 2 months). After 2 filter replacement s, you could have just bought another complete filter system. Same as inkjet printers. I’m not sure if that’s 2 months of hard core use (running it 24/7 on maximum) or just average use. In other words, will minimal usage still require replacement or only heavy usage.
