Wilton Gel Icing, Sparkle Red, 3.5 oz

The tube is easy to use, just a light squeeze and the gel is coming out. Squeeze harder for thicker gel and a light squeeze for a thin line of gel. It's a vibrant red and the glitter is noticeable. To me, it doesn't have much of a taste, which is nice, it doesn't taste sugary. It's an effective decorative addition, really enhancing the design of the treat! I was happy, and after decorating 16 cupcakes, I've got plenty leftover.

I used the red for lava on my cupcakes and it came out great! When it fully dries it’s very sticky (just fyi)

Easy to use while decorating to add accents to cookies. Problem was gel never dried, it remained sticky which caused storage problems if decorated cookies

I looked everywhere for this sparkle gel and could not find it in stores, so I was thrilled to find it on Amazon!! I used it to make realistic-looking water for the waterfall on my dinosaur-themed cake. It turned out perfectly! Everybody at the party loved how real the water looked. It was very easy to apply and spread around with a knife. And I still have plenty left for the next cake.

Not sure why Wilton risked their reputation for this product. It is runny and has bubbles throughout the tube. The main streak sits in a pool of black-water when squeezing the tube. I had to remediate my cake with piped frosting. Not worth $10, rather -$100 for lost time and effort.

I loved this stuff! So pretty with the hint of sparkle! It worked really well also - hardly any air bubbles and only the occasional stutter in flow which was really easy to fix, and sooooo easy to use for someone who is NOT a professional cake decorator like me! As for the taste... it tastes just like every other frosting product out there and I couldn't tell any difference when eating it along with a store-bought sheet cake. it tastes just like regular frosting if you ask me. I don't know what people expect from a packaged product, but I thought it tasted fine. Not great, of course! It's in a tube! I mean, really? It's plenty good enough for casual parties and kids and family and if you like frosting (like my husband does) he thought it was really sweet and really good and complimented the cake flavors really well. He gave it two thumbs up! Overall, Best cheater-piping product I've ever used!
