The experiment turned out to be hugely successful, spawning publications that have remained definitive and introductory to physics for decades. Ranging from the basic principles of Newtonian physics through such formidable theories as general relativity and quantum mechanics, Feynman's lectures stand as a monument of clear exposition and deep insight. Timeless and collectible, the lectures are essential reading, not just for students of physics but for anyone seeking an introduction to the field from the inimitable Feynman. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Book 1 Of 3 | The Feynman Lectures on Physics | | Dimensions | 8.63 x 0.88 x 10.88 inches | | Edition | 50th New Millennium ed. | | Grade Level | 11 and up | | Isbn 10 | 0465024939 | | Isbn 13 | 978-0465024933 | | Item Weight | 2.77 pounds | | Language | English | | Print Length | 560 pages | | Publication Date | October 4, 2011 | | Publisher | Basic Books | | Reading Age | 13 years and up | ## Images ![The Feynman Lectures on Physics, Vol. I - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51mc3Drm-BL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Satisfied *by on Reviewed in the United States November 16, 2024* I’m glad purchasing used book. The quality is almost as promised. The pages are good. Content-wise this book explains things in depth compared to physics for scientists and engineers. It doesn’t start with motion. You might need some help though. The program is good ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Content beyond reproach, but not for the faint. *by on Reviewed in the United States November 27, 2016* Of course the substantive content is beyond reproach, but it remains a challenging read, regardless of one's educational background. However, if you are reading the Feynman Lectures with Kindle for the iPad, be aware you will be disappointed in the formatting -- when inline mathematical expressions are rendered, these formulas are not properly displayed. Speaking with the editor of the Feynman Lectures, he informs me that Amazon has not updated the Kindle software for the iPad to support the newer mobi standard (or Amazon delivers the old .mobi version to iPads instead of the newer .mobi standard?). He informs me that publishers generally are complaining to Amazon about this problem for some time. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Glossy" typeface not an issue for me *by on Reviewed in the United States September 24, 2013* I was a little worried about this "glossy pages" issue brought up by the other posters. However, it was way cheaper and easier to just buy this edition, so I took the plunge. When I got it, I compared it side by side with the library copy that I had been reading. (The library copy was the old edition). Sure, I could notice a subtle difference, and my wife and I both thought that perhaps the library copy could be slightly easier on the eyes. But it was a minor thing; from reading the other posts I worried this edition would be highly reflective with glare like a shiny glossy magazine, which is just not the case. The next day I returned the library copy to the library; I've been reading this one ever since and not once have I had a thought like "gee, I wish it was less glossy" while reading it. I've just been reading it, never distracted from the content.Admittedly, I'm not older (I'm 31) and I've always had pretty good eyesight, so I can't speak for everybody, but I felt like for me, just getting this nice, new, cheaper copy was the no-brainer decision, with which I'm completely satisfied. In closing, this book was $26.49 when I bought it in early September on this website. I don't know why the price has gone up. (I was considering getting the hardcover version originally, but that price also went up). ## Frequently Bought Together - The Feynman Lectures on Physics, Vol. I: The New Millennium Edition: Mainly Mechanics, Radiation, and Heat - Feynman Lectures on Physics, Vol. II: The New Millennium Edition: Mainly Electromagnetism and Matter (Feynman Lectures on Physics (Paperback)) - The Feynman Lectures on Physics, Vol. III: The New Millennium Edition: Quantum Mechanics (Feynman Lectures on Physics (Paperback)) (Volume 3) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.mx/products/5808477-the-feynman-lectures-on-physics-vol-i](https://www.desertcart.mx/products/5808477-the-feynman-lectures-on-physics-vol-i) --- *Product available on Desertcart Mexico* *Store origin: MX* *Last updated: 2026-10-05*
