I had been shopping for steel maxes a long time and decided on this one because being loadable i figured it would provide the best value and versatility for the money. The handle is really thick which at first I thought would be and issue but it’s not, takes some extra grip strength and control to use it but definitely not an issue. One of the reasons I was shopping for a mace was because of the effect it has on shoulder mobility. I had been having on and off should issues for a few years now and was done with it. Now I don’t know if it was just me but my first time using this mace I was working my left shoulder which was the one giving me trouble. Part way through a lift I heard and felt 3 pops in my left shoulder and the pin was gone. Turns out I had subluxated my scapula and rib. Using the mace adjusted them back to their proper position. This is a great workout tool, great quality, great value.

The actual “ball” or the heavy part of the mace is bigger than most maces, it is about the size of a classic kettlebell. Also the handle is wider than most. That might be a challenge for beginners as you do need to adjust the movement somewhat, but nothing unattainable. The mace I got by itself is 12.4 lbs. Excellent build quality I don’t see anything that could brake. Only complain I have about the mace is that the handle had some rough spots I believe from the powder coating, nothing a little elbow grease and a file couldn’t fix however I did have to spend about 15 minutes going over the handle to smooth it out but after that it is now perfect.i highly recommend for functional strength enthusiasts.

### ⭐⭐ Had to return it . Wasn’t what I expected

I gave it 2 stars because its not what I expected. I wanted a mace that I could use to do tire striking and that was adjustable but this mace seemed like if I used it to whack on tires with full force repeatedly it wouldn’t of held up the welds on it weren’t straight or clean so I ended up sending it back for a refund. But as far as using it for regular mace workouts it felt fine you just got to get used to the 2inch handle
