He Gives More Grace is an accessible 30-day devotional written by the mother/daughter team of Sarah Walton and Linda Green. Both ladies have walked through trials in their motherhood, and they gracefully and thoughtfully share lessons they've learned. They share their trials carefully, being mindful to guard their family members, which I appreciate. Throughout, they point their readers to the Lord and seek to show us Him and how He gave grace throughout their trials. Each reflection is a standalone and can be read in one sitting. There are a variety of topics to meet a multitude of needs, such as "When My Child Hurts," "The Facade of Super-Mom," and "Grace for the Mom Raising a Child with Extra Needs." In the Table of Contents, you can see who penned each chapter. (I do wish it was also printed in the actual chapter, but I'm glad to know it's in the TOC.) Each chapter has a "Grace in a Line" entry, where the authors give a short nugget of what the chapter is about, such as chapter 5's Worship in the Mundane: "God will see and use every mundane act of service that I do today." You can even write these down to remind you and encourage you throughout the day. I think my favorite chapter might have been chapter 16, "A Mother's Prayer," where Sarah writes the chapter in the form of a prayer. It met a need on the day I read it for sure. This entire book has just met a need. I think this would make a great baby shower gift, Mother's Day gift, birthday gift, Christmas gift - anytime gift! I've already recommended it to several people and will continue to do so. I will also be purchasing more in the future to give away to others to encourage them. The length of the chapters ensure that moms will be able to pick it up and read it, even just going to the chapters they need for that day. I look forward to reading more from these ladies and a friend has already recommended another of Sarah's books, Hope When It Hurts. But for now, I highly recommend He Gives More Grace for moms.

He Gives More Grace is a hope-filled and encouraging book for mothers everywhere. It is written by mother-daughter duo, Linda Green and Sarah Walton. Sarah Walton is a mom who still has four children at home, and Linda Green is her mother, who has raised three children and is now a grandmother. Sarah is well acquainted with chronic illness and suffering, and as such, she has a perspective to offer on motherhood that chronic illness moms will appreciate very much. However, this isn’t a book just for moms with chronic illness. It is a book for every mom. The chapters are short and accessible. If you are limited by time, energy, or brain fog, this is an easy book to read. Even though chapters are short, they are packed full of gospel encouragement, wisdom, and words of grace. Each chapter is followed by a journaling page and questions for thought and discussion. This would be a great book for two moms to read and discuss together in a mentoring relationship. It is also the perfect book to gift to all of the moms in your life. I highly recommend He Gives More Grace!

I'd bought, read and given as gifts Sarah Walton's earlier book Hope When it Hurts co-written with Kristen Wetherell so I was especially looking forward to He Gives More Grace. Highly recommended. Practical help in many situations which are often not covered by other books in the same way - for example, parenting through chronic illness (both the parent's and the children's) as well as the specific grace needed for parenting children with special needs. I appreciated the honesty of the authors and the encouragement to reflect. I think all Mum's are aware of their imperfections and this encourages us to look past those to the grace that is available in motherhood for us and our children. (Jane Walkington).
