Heavy-duty, versatile and unique construction!
I give these FIVE stars because of their heavy-duty, versatile and unique construction. AMAZON and Woodwind & Brasswind are the least expensive sellers of these stands of anywhere I could find. Free shipping is a must because the weigh a lot!! Plus, true "worry free buying" from AMAZON, insures any issues will be covered. I bought TWO of these units, to support a couple of large 24 channel mixers. I searched for other solutions for my specific application; however this unit could not be beat. The units are delivered folded, in a plastic bag and in a cardboard carton. Before I opened them, I was a bit leery thinking they would be damaged or scratched due to the flimsy packaging. However both units were in perfect condition when arrived. More importantly, these units are BRAND NEW, not "B-STOCK", like some other sellers offer. These stands are so versatile, can be used for many applications. Square tubing diameter is beefy. Powder coat finish is adequate. 300 pound capacity allows supporting a speaker cabinet as large as a "Voice of the Theater" securely. Legs do not "lock" into position, however "friction" fit positioning is suitable. Quik-Lok offers accessories for these units to expand their versatility to add a second tier for second keyboard, laptop, ect. The other excellent feature is the ability to fold this unit to a fraction of the size when transporting.

*SUPER STOKED* - couldn't be Happier!!!
After much research, lookin' at different Keyboard Stand types/configurations/manufacturers..... I decided on the Quik Lok WS-550 and ordered it. It arrived shortly after with no problem: - Perfect, brand new condition - No missing or wrong parts - No assembly required - Ready to go! All's I had to do was swing each leg open.... adjust the height.... And WALA, I was set! It's VERY FAST to setup n' breakdown for gigs. You can do it under a minute! What I also like is the rock-solid feel of having 4 strong legs supporting my Yamaha MOXF8 (88 key) instrument. It's like having it on a sturdy workbench or table: It ain't movin'! I can play with a full range of dynamics. Even when I attack the keys very hard, there is *ZERO* shakiness, side-to-side or back n' forth wobble. The way Quik-Lok built this stand, there is no chance for sudden, catastrophic, collapse or failure. Which is a BIG problem with other stands. There's nothing worse than having your prize instrument gear go crashing to the ground! The other thing too that I really like about the WS-550 is: Unlike many of the other typical stand designs, underneath you have a large, roomy area for your pedals, or to stash whatever. But most importantly..... TOTAL FREEDOM OF MOVEMENT for your feet and legs! So if you had too much sugar or caffein before a performance, and you're about ready to burst at the seams with excitement.... No problem! There's plenty of room to energetically move and flail your limbs around as you very happily express n' play your music to a wild and appreciative crowd! (speaking of wild) Even if that means your audience is your lone pet hamster or snake in your home studio bedroom..... Hopefully your most loyal, die-hard fan isn't a pet hamster hangin' halfway out a pet snake's mouth. ((( HAHA )))

No better digital keyboard stand period, at least at this price point
I was using those "x-type" stands for a while, and although they work just fine, my knees would hit the frame ever so often, and would hurt like hell. Also, the stands were cheaply made, and were wobbly, which didn't instill a high level of confidence that it would keep my Roland safe. My friend turned me onto this stand, and I won't ever turn back. If you look on the Quik Lok website, there's a large speaker sitting on this stand, although the legs are also adjustable to fit a full keyboard perfectly. The Roland NX700 is a beast of a keyboard, that's one of the heavier on the market and this stand supports it just fine. The best part is the open space under the keyboard so you can move your legs with ease.

works fine; what I expected
I think this is a perfectly good stand for holding a single keyboard and that's all I was looking for. I didn't really realize ahead of time that the legs are adjustable to fixed lengths -- there are stops. I had expected it to just have screws or something so I could adjust it to any height. However, it was easy to find a stop that worked for me; so it's cool.

LOVE IT enough to write a review
LOVE IT enough to write a review. It's replacing a 2-tier heavy-duty Quick Loc double-X stand I've been using for years. It's not quite as rock-solid as the X, there is a *little* bit of front to back wobble if you really shake it but nothing that affects playing -- especially for studio use. I'm using it for a 52 lb Kurzweil PC88 and it handles the monster with ease. Love the room under the stand. No banged up shins! Also this takes up WAY less space front to back that the X stand, basically the depth of the keyboard. Perfect for putting large keyboards in small places. Also wouldn't hesitate to use for speakers or a mixer.

BUILT LIKE A TANK, MORE PORTABLE, CUSTOMIZEABLE THAN AN X-STAND
I can't say enough good things about this stand. Built like a tank, and folds up to fit into a car better than a regular x stand. Build quality is amazing and I'd trust this with the heaviest of amps, keyboards, mixing consoles, etc. It also allows me to adjust the footprint so I can have my pedalboard below it or make it fit onto small stages. I do wish it went ONE peg higher, but it still reaches a decent height. If I lost this one, I'd probably get the smaller WS450 just because I don't quite need the level of support this one provides. Regardless, I'm completely satisfied with this purchase.

No leg lock
I like everything about the stand except that the legs cannot be locked into a position. It is a sturdy stand but if a leg gets knocked and swings around then that could be catastrophic.

Great instant table!!!
I like the design and it's very compact and sturdy. I like how you can raise the height of the individual legs as I used this initiall on an uneven surface. My only gripe would be is that you actually have to provide the flat surface over it to make it a standard 'table'. Keyboards would be fine but as I am a DJ, I can't just plop my DJ set on there without putting a working surface underneath first. I'll have to end up buying that surface, like buying a sheet of plywood and then cutting out the right size I need. Still a great stand though.

built like a tank!
Took its time getting dispatched but delivery was fast. Product is built like a tank and easily holds my xl flight case with modular synths in

Built Like a Tank
This is the most solid stand I've ever owned. Twice I've had keyboards topple off of the stage because the stand isn't sturdy and the whole thing shakes, but not with this. The more you can seperate the legs, the more sturdy it is. It's like a mini table. It also compacts down quite a bit, so if you're like me and constantly doing shows, the setup is straightforward and it's easy to store on the road. I do have a couple minor complaints… 1) I wish I could adjust the height without having to take everything off. It's not a big deal, but just know that you can't really adjust the height without everything falling off… Unless you have 4 ppl to do it all at once I guess? 2) I find some of the bolts hard to screw in. It feels like holes are just ever so slightly off, so I tend to swap bolts to different holes to try to make it easier. Just makes initial setup a little frustrating, so if you're planning to set it up and leave it, you shouldn't have any issues. If you need to constantly pack and unpack it, just keep that in mind. Beyond that though, I have 2 Keyboards on this thing (with the addon sold seperately) and I've had it for over 2 years. My complaints are so minor that I'm keeping my rating 5 stars. I don't regret purchasing it one bit. This thing'll last years!

A dedicated 4 legged stand will always be better than any X frame
This stand is great because you can pull up in a chair with lots of leg room and not have anything in the way for comfortable playing. It'll fit big and heavy keyboards without issue and is very versatile to support different widths and depths, it'll also adjust up and down for different size chairs or if standing. It'll also fold up pretty small for storage. I bought 3 of these and they actually saved me a lot of room in my studio. The heaviest thing I have on it is a Rhodes Chroma with an EML 101 on top. Probably over 100lbs together and still feels very sturdy. Highly recommended.

Good product, holds my keyboard. Just wish it could go lower.
Good for holding my keyboard but I wish it could be lowered more, it holds the keyboard higher than normal and I find it a little uncomfortable for playing. But it works as expected and no issues.

Best stand I've ever owned
I haven't owned a lot of stands. I bought a very heavy digital piano recently and the stand I was using wobbled a lot with the weight. This one is rock solid and is super-well designed for easy transport and light-weight.
