It is great quality, but the threading is loose when one string begins to be undone or caught in a zipper. Don't let the individual strands get stuck or pulled if possible

I ordered these to essentially play with . . . okay I saw them used on the series "The Unit" and thought they looked cool. They have good quality, and there are many different patterns and colours to get, and mine might look drab, but that has more to do with my colour blindness than anything else. Nonetheless, a few videos later, and I am tying this up like a desert dweller. The original developers of this amazing piece of cloth are enormously creative and intelligent. I am not writing from the big book of hyperbole when I say this - this would work well for the summer, but work as well in the winter. Here in Northwestern Ontario, the winter can be quite cold, and the wind can whip up rather quickly. This type of head and face covering is good for staying warm. I do own cold weather gear that is warmer, but not so light and easily packed. I do get people looking at me twice though, but they are walking so quickly to get out of the winter storm, they really don't bother me. Maybe they even look a bit jealous too. There are other things to wear, but this folds up nicely. It takes up very little space and has earned a special, and permanent place in my EDC and my Jeep.

I used this for about a week now, and its light weight, breathable and looks good. It's soft and not at all scratchy or stiff, and while I can't speak to its seemingly amazing ability to repel sunshine and dramatically lower the temperature by 15 degrees (I'm wearing in the cold north eastern winter) I can say it keeps my ears, head, and neck warm. As you can see from the (iphone quality) pictures I've uploaded, the color's aren't as vibrant as they appear on the website and the quality is rather disappointing. On the one hand that shows that the decoration isn't "painted" on. On the other...poor craftmans shift and quality control. As far as the first issue goes, that's on me. I should have figured that in anything less than perfect lighting the colors were going to be muted and gone with the white and black rather than the gray and black product I did. As for the second, after less than a week, I've already got threads coming loose, fuzzies coming off the black, tassels splitting and I haven't even done anything high-speed with it. Just worn it to the jeep, from the jeep to work and back again. One other note, this one was slightly smaller than the others I've worn in the past, which for most people isn't going to be an issue, but if you have a ginormous head like I do, it makes the fitting look less than stylish. That said, it doesn't impact functionality at all.

I love this shemagh. I was concerned at first that the material was coarser than other shemaghs I own, but after the first wash it softened up and clings like you'd expect. The material seems to be a blend of natural cotton and some tiny amount of synthetic. During a flame check the thread burns quickly with a small bit melting up. Definitely not full synthetic as others have suggested/complained. Also interesting to note that it is slightly off-square, but after the first wash this has diminished. It is still not exactly square, but not enough to notice. Checking my other shemaghs I find that they are not exactly square either. The shemagh travels with me nearly everywhere I go no matter the weather. Even in the middle of summer it helps with things like the A/C on the bus blowing on the back of my neck, or an unexpected breeze during a hike, and is a must during a commercial flight. I've even used it to keep my nose and face from freezing as I cinched myself into my mummy bag during a 16 degree F night in the woods.
