Hello I have a Harvey water softener and this brand of block salt seems compatible. I have no problem.Try buying 1 double block(2 blocks in 1 pack.) I am happy with my buy ordering some more.

The salt is 99.4% purity and conforms to BS EN 973 which covers “Chemicals used for treatment of water intended for human consumption — Sodium chloride for regeneration of ion exchangers”.

Q: Hi. The blocks fuse together in the packaging and are very hard to separate. Is there any easy way to do this?

Always a nuisance when this happens. I sometimes open up the plastic wrapper and lay it flat on the floor. Lift the pair of blocks a few inches above the floor and drop them down. Invariably this breaks the seal. Alternatively I have laid the blocks flat on the wrapper and then using a wooden mallet tapped the sharp end of a clean chisel between the blocks. One of these methods has always worked for me. I have found all makes of block salt have this problem. They used to have cardboard around and between but I seem to remember they still stuck.
