Sturdy and solid
Features I wanted (prioritized in order), which I found on this iGen11000DFc generator: An "inverter" generator (to get THD or Total Harmonic Distortion under 3%) A "Dual Fuel" generator (to run either Propane or Gasoline) An electric start (from a battery) with "recoil" or manual start option Size: Something close to 10,000 watts (or 10KW) to easily handle any one circuit in our home (hot water heater, electric range, electric clothes dryer, etc.) Transfer switch ready (so I can "plug the house into it") Able to deliver 240 Volt circuits (required to be able to "plug the house into it") Bonus feature: The "c" in the model name for Westinghouse indicates it has a carbon monoxide shutoff feature - to shut down if carbon monoxide levels from the exhaust get dangerous around it. Packaging was great. Assembly was easy. Adding oil was made easy with supplied funnel, etc. Started it up yesterday (on propane) - took two tries to get it to start. The second try, it started but ran very rough, misfiring regularly. Let it do that for a minute or two, then shut it off. Started it again and it started right up and ran smooth. I proceeded to test it over the next 80 minutes, hooked it to our home with a 50 amp cord, and tried various circuits in the home including a heat pump, fridge, freezer, computers with monitors, TV, etc. - all worked fine. Ran the house on it for a while. My wife forgot it was on and started the electric dryer even. No issues whatsoever. The generator handled them all just fine and behaved like it was just idling to do it - it never seemed to strain or struggle. I then disconnected it from the house and started it multiple times, different ways, with the key fob, even pulling the cord (which took two pulls to start it). Every time it seemed to work just great! Downside that I saw only after reviewing the manual in detail - it says that it's not good at cold temps with the included oil (cold meaning below 23 degrees F). I want this for winter in Maine. So, I plan to change the oil out to the recommended 5W-30 synthetic oil for cold temps sometime after the burn in period - but the manual says to use the included oil until the generator is used sufficient to get it through a normal motor burn in of about 5 hours (as I understand it from reviewing the manual). Would I recommend - "yes". Bonus - it was quieter than I expected it to be. That's why my wife forgot it was even running and started the dryer in our home - she didn't even notice it was still on from inside our well-insulated home.

Well built reliable and quiet!
I recently purchased the Westinghouse 11000 Peak Watt Dual Fuel Portable Inverter Generator with Remote Electric Start, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my emergency preparedness setup. Living in an area prone to power outages, I needed a reliable solution to keep my whole house running and ensure my Tesla stays charged when the grid goes down. This generator has delivered on both fronts, and I’m genuinely impressed with its performance. Setting it up was a breeze. It arrived with everything I needed—oil, a funnel, a toolkit, and a remote start key fob—so I had it up and running in no time. The remote electric start is a game-changer; I can fire it up from inside the house without trudging outside in bad weather. Plus, the dual fuel capability (gasoline or propane) gives me flexibility depending on what fuel I have on hand, which is a huge plus during emergencies when gas stations might not be operational. For whole house backup, this generator’s 11,000 peak watts and 9,000 running watts (on gasoline) have been more than enough to power my essentials. I’ve got it hooked up to a transfer switch via the L14-30R outlet, and it effortlessly keeps my refrigerator, lights, Wi-Fi, and even a window AC unit going during outages. The inverter technology ensures clean power with low THD, so I don’t have to worry about sensitive electronics getting fried. It’s not dead silent—around 64 dBA under load—but it’s manageable, especially since I park it outside away from the house. Where this generator really shines for me is charging my Tesla in a pinch. With the 50-amp 14-50R outlet, I can plug in my Tesla Mobile Connector and get a decent charge going. It’s not as fast as a dedicated Level 2 charger, of course, but at about 20-25 miles of range per hour, it’s a lifesaver when I need to keep the car operational during extended outages. I’ve tested it with both gasoline (up to 17 hours on a 7.92-gallon tank) and propane (shorter runtime but cleaner burning), and it handles the load without breaking a sweat. One thing to note: it’s not lightweight at around 187 pounds, but the wheels and handles make it portable enough to move around my property. The CO sensor adds peace of mind, especially when running it near the garage. My only minor gripe is that the fuel efficiency drops a bit under heavy loads—like when charging the Tesla and running the house simultaneously—but that’s to be expected with any generator pushing its limits. Overall, the Westinghouse 11000 Peak Watt Dual Fuel Inverter Generator has been a reliable workhorse for my whole house backup and Tesla charging needs. It’s powerful, versatile, and easy to use, making it a solid investment for anyone looking to stay prepared. I’d recommend it to anyone in a similar boat—especially if you’re balancing household power and EV charging during emergencies.

Great Inverter/Generator
Was worried about the set up on this Inverter/Generator, but it was very easy to set up. After adding oil with the supplied funnel and oil, I hooked up an LP tank I had in storage and it started right up with the supplied remote control. Was impressed with how quiet it is compared to and old generator we have had for 15 plus years. With it being such a large unit it is fairly easy to maneuver around. The included tool kit is a plus and very helpful when needed. Instructions on set up and running are very clear. I really like the battery charging cord which makes it so easy to just plug in and charge. I also like the dual fuel feature on it as it will give us plenty of options if we need to use it for a prolonged time. I would recommend this product and right now I am not disappointed with our purchase!

Great Generator. Quiet and powerful!
Got this ahead of storm season to back up our home, just in case. We had a smaller 5000w but it just wasn't enough. Setup was dead simple and took about 20 minutes including the unboxing....it IS heavy though, so have help. Started right up after first attempt and runs very well. I haven't had it long enough to do extensive testing but will report back if I have any issues. The only complaint I could lodge would be insanely minor....the zip ties inside all have long, sharp tails, someone at the factory is either lazy or thinks they're funny. A pair of flush cutters took care of them quickly. Shouldn't be an issue since an owner wouldn't be inside the unit often, but for oil changes or initial add, they could scrape you.
