Oh this works, for both cats and small dogs -- I got the small size. It is best to have an outdoor area where you can use this, because your pet's undercoat will come flying off like you are shearing a sheep! Strategically break up a pup-a-roni stick or other treat if your pet can't stay in one place, and use gentle strokes. Mine paces but they get their treat after. There is a larger tooth for the undercoat and a smaller tooth on this one tool for general grooming. I mostly use the larger tooth because their undercoats keep shedding.

I bought this because it is similar to the brushes I used for horses years ago. I have a small dog with a thick undercoat and most dog brushes don't stand a chance with his thick coat. This is so much easier to use and it does an amazing job at getting the excess hair brushed out when he sheds heavy twice a year. Cleaning it off is easy as well and it's way more effective because it doesn't get stuck in the fur like many regular dog brushes. It has saved me a lot of time grooming.

My cat absolutely loves the shedding blade....good thing, because he sheds like there is no tomorrow. My two large dogs enjoy it as well but I need to buy a larger size blade for them, but for now it works ok. This blade makes a really big difference in the amount of hair I have to vacuum up.

It really gets in there & doesn't harm my dogs. I use them on my small chihuahua & on my german shepherd mix both ahead A LOT. This helps reduce my drain clogging before a shower as well as reducing the shread after the bath.
