Korean Grammar in Use - Beginning

This is an excellent book for beginner Korean language students. It has served me well in 7 months of weekly classes (and counting). 한국어를 배우고 있어요. 재미있어요! The book gathers its many grammar subjects into logical sections, making it easy to find what you need in a hurry. The book covers numerous useful subjects, including: - Korean sentence structure - verb tenses (present, future, past, past perfect, present progressive, ...) - negative expressions - commands and suggestions - composing question sentences - asking opinions - noun particles - listing and contrast - time expressions - connecting two clauses into a single sentence - much more... I was learning more than what was taught so far in my class, jumping ahead to learn more advanced sentence structures (and surprising my teacher). Very useful, essential. I highly recommend this book.

This a great book to help you learn grammar, but only if you already know how to read 한글 (and not rely on romanization), as well as already having a fairly solid base in vocabulary. If you’re at the very beginning of your language learning journey, this might feel a little overwhelming, as it just jumps right into the grammar lessons. If you already have a base, this is perfect! Each grammar point starts with Example Sentences (with cartoons and english translations) followed by Grammar Focus (which shows you how the points are used with various verbs/nouns, as well as explaining the differences between similar grammar points). Then they give you examples that are slightly more complex than the first 3, and are usually lines of conversation. This is followed by a section where you complete an exercise on your own, focusing on the grammar from that section. Overall, a very good book! The sections are short enough to not be overwhelming or lose your attention, but long enough to get the point across and help you understand.

Personal background: I’m currently studying korean alone and before I bought this book, I have been studying for 6 months. I am extremely satisfied with this book. It has all the conjugation rules for grammar phrases, it has an entire section devoted to explaining different particles, and has a practice page at the end of every new concept with answers in the back. The only downside is that it completely expects you to already understand hangeul (which i did so it wasn’t a problem) and there are a lot of difficult vocabulary in here that complete beginners may not know. Overall- make sure you learn hangeul and then buy this book!!!!

Comprehensive and easy to understand. I love that it includes practice execises…..more than just a reference book.

I love this book, it genuinely is a great book to learn korean Grammar, although some information can be missing, just always have an extra korean grammar book with you by the side, for example i use this book with MY TTMIK lvl 2 and 3 with this book if i ever need more clarification and more info to look at, and it really helps alot! 여러분 할 수 있어 화이팅!! 🌟💕

This textbook is good, my Korean teacher often uses it along side our 서강 대학교 textbook. The only downside about this book is the pages are made from paper that is easily smudgable. If you use pen, make sure everything dries before you flip pages or store the book. I heard that if you use pencil, erasing is also really bad. So just be aware before purchasing the book. Otherwise this book is really good and highly recommend the content is really good and helpful.

Excellent book with English. Learning a new language is hard and requires dedication and lots of time. There are NO short cuts if you want to learn how to truly speak the language like you do your native tongue and not just parrot phrases. This book is an excellent starting point. You should have a good understanding of how to pronounce Hangul to adequately use this book. There are plenty of really good free Korean Language applications to learn proper pronunciations of the Korean alphabet, the most important being the vowels. Find yourself a good native speaker at a Korean Church. They will probably invite you to their fellowship after the service for some really good Hankuk umshiek (Korean food). Have fun. You will make a friend for life.

Libro completo en temario y explicaciones. Quizá me falta algo más de ejercicios. Al final del libro hay las soluciones, así que va muy bien para las personas autodidactas.

Before you buy this book, better if you could read the hangeul. I really love this book cause it's so completed. They input a tenses, particles, expression, etc. Thanks to seller ❤️
