Very comfortable helmet, white color stands out in traffic, MIPS safety is a huge plus
I've been riding for decades and have been following helmet technology for a long time. When MIPS helmets came out, I began following articles about them, and reading a lot of reviews relating to how they perform. Giro helmets have been available with MIPS for a while now, and the price has gotten to be affordable for anyone to benefit from the technology. This helmet is very affordable for a MIPS helmet, and feels just as light and comfortable as a few helmets I have that I spent three times the amount I paid for this one. I use this one on my road bike, ad the bright white color really seems to stay out in urban and country environments. It's well ventilated, and the adjustment straps are easy to use and adjust whenever needed, with just the twist of a knob. In the summer I can wear this one when it's a hundred degrees, and in the winter, I can wear a helmet liner underneath this one and ride comfortably in the twenty degree range. It's a great helmet, and priced very reasonably. It's also just as useful on most mountain bike trails as it is in local parks or on the road. I very much recommend this one to anyone looking for a bicycle helmet.

Great fit at a reasonable price from a company with a good reputation
Giro makes a quality helmet at a good price. Good fit--I have a large head size (I like to think it's because Im smart-however others may disagree!). Anyway Giro fit size is very accomodating. Others not so much. Specialized XL is OK also, but that's about it.

Register (Left) Comparison to Revel (Right)
I purchased this helmet after the adjustment dial on my Revel broke after about two years. Here are a few notes on notable differences and similarities. I have previously owned Giro Indicator and Transfer models before the Revel so I’m pretty familiar with their offerings in the low-mid range. I’ll be keeping the Revel around as a backup after I super glue the adjustment dial in a static position. Overall I think the Register is a solid option that will likely last you 3-4 years of daily use if you don’t use the adjustment dial often. Pros: - Lighter than the Revel, 280g versus 314g, despite the addition of MIPS components. I attribute some of this to the lighter/thinner straps which seem to be of similar strength. - Comfortable out of the box, with more padding on the touch points. You can see the additional padding in the interior comparison shot. - Instead of a sticker, the model name is molded onto the rear of the outer shell, which is a nice aesthetic touch. Cons: - Has the same “Roc Loc” adjustment system as the Revel. As I noted previously it's easy to use but the plastic components of the dial mechanism won’t stand up to daily use. Set it and forget it if you can. Don’t expect it to last more than a couple years with frequent use. - Larger overall, which you can also see in the photos. - The visor attachment is pretty weak compared to older models, without any pins to pop in. Don't expect the visor to stay on over rough terrain.
