Review: Great for Yaesu Amateur radio transceivers - It appears that a lot of Amateur Radio operators are buying this headset as a replacement for the likes of Heil communications headsets. If you're thinking of buying this I can say it works VERY well with my Yaesu FTDX10, it sounds the same as my Heil Pro Micro which has died the death after only 4 years. You will though need the correct cable interface and a PTT pedal or foot switch. I use the Heil AD-1-AR from my old Heil headset. This headset is fitted with a dynamic microphone so I'm not sure if it'll work with Icom which require a electret mic element. Audio reports I'm getting are excellent, the headset is comfy IMHO, the cabling seems a bit thin so be careful and tidy up the excess with the wraps supplied as it may snag. You'll also need some foam covers for the microphone which can be bought on desertcart (I used my old Heil one.) All in all a much cheaper replacement than Heil or similar for a third/maybe quarter of the price.
