The Warren Buffett Way, 30th Anniversary Edition (Wiley Investment Classics) Review: A good read!!! - This book explains Buffett’s investment philosophy in a clear and approachable way. It focuses more on mindset and long-term thinking than quick strategies. Some sections feel repetitive if you already know the basics of value investing. The real-world examples are helpful and well explained. It’s more educational than exciting, but that’s expected. Best for readers who want fundamentals rather than shortcuts. A solid investment classic. Review: Good Book - I'm not a Warrant Buffett fan but this is a very interesting book.

The Buffett Way works
Fantastic book. It even goes into GAAP, Generally Accepted Account Principles, but not too deep. I was surprised by an extended discussion of intangible v. tangible investments and how those are captured on the income and balance sheets respectively. I don't think this discussion was in the original 1984 version of the book. Intangibles, things like software and R&D, are captured on the income statement. Tangibles, stuff like factory machinery, is captured on the balance sheet and then expensed a certain percentage each year. Why is this important? Most tech companies are extremely intangible heavy. You're going to be finding a lot of what they spend their money on (software and R&D), on the income statement. But what if it's Tesla? They dump billions into intangibles and tangibles, so you have to scrutinize both sheets. The book went over two specific models for valuing companies, but didn't call them out by name. One is the Gordon Growth Model and the other valuation model is the Zero Growth model. The application of these, along with DCF, to the purchases of Coca Cola, the Washington Post, and several others was eye-opening and educational.

Buffett is the GOAT
This book delivers Buffett at his best. Whenever I question a potential investment, I ask myself what would Warren Buffett do? This book will serve as great resource and reminder of the proper way to invest - The Buffett Way.

Excellent Read
Great book about Warren Buffett. Gives you a look at Buffett's philosophy, when buying stocks, you are buying a fractional interest in the business, focus on a low turnover portfolio, invest only in what you know and understand, make sure you have a margin of safety between the purchase price and the company’s long-term value

Should Have Read 30 Years Ago
This is a wonderful read that I wish I had read 30 years ago. It is highly educational presenting a solid perspective on how to invest. Don't expect any hot tips or any other way to make a fast buck. Most of us are not smart enough to replicate the Waren Buffett way, but we can still learn from his success.

I read the original/first edition about 27 years ago and I truly liked the book! When I came across this 30th anniversary edition, I immediately purchased it to update myself, as there have been so many developments and changes over the intervening years. Although Mr. Buffett's investment tenets are timeless, this latest edition is basically a new book with the old chapters in the first edition revamped. Others like me who have read the first edition can seriously consider picking up this latest edition (despite my 3 star rating which is due to the considerations below). However, there is room for improvements: 1) More can be shared about Warren Buffett's failure. Sadly, errors of omission is a mere short section in Chapter 4. I believe no one is perfect and surely Mr. Buffett has had his fair share of omissions and mistakes. One can learn just as much from failures as from successes. An example is the Tesco investment that Mr. Buffett characterised as a "huge mistake" ... this should have been included in the book. 2) I would also love to get the author's assessment of the Kraft-Heinz merger. Was it a success or a failure? Why did Mr. Buffett pursue the deal? And what about the purchase of various airlines stocks? Was this decision made by Mr. Buffett or his lieutenants? In recent years, some common stocks are no longer held for the long-term by Berkshire Hathaway ... why is this so? A coverage on this would be extremely helpful as well. 3) The author could have shared the mathematical formulae for coming out with the figures/numbers in the book. This way, the reader does not have to spend time figuring it out on his/her own. 4) This 30th anniversary edition was published in 2024, but in Appendix B we only have Berkshire Hathaway's Common Stock Portfolio up until 2021 only.

A fascinating and engaging read. Warren Buffet is one of those highly successful investors that most everyday people will probably not have heard of but his wisdom and insight is supreme. This book will help to provide readers with a genuine in-depth understanding of how it is that Warren Buffet became and remains the single most successful investor to date. Beyond providing such valuable insight, it's also a genuinely interesting read as it along the way it also paints a vivid picture of just how international markets and indeed, market makers, can often act in quite irrational ways that Warren Buffet has always sought to avoid. Highly recommended for all.
