This SSD exceeded my expectations. It’s very fast, lightweight, and works flawlessly with my Mac right out of the box. Great for editing, storing large files, and carrying it anywhere. Totally worth it.

Crucial is the bomb! They make quality items, I have used them several times over the past 20 years, never been disappointed. This little SSD did not disappoint either! I bounce between my iMac and MBP, it takes not time at all to back up my iMac, and it's small and compact enough to travel in my laptop case. I did purchase the case to fit, it's just a top quality item! Not noisy at all, simple plug and play, I will purchase again.

If I could give this little device 6 stars, I would.It floored me. The download speeds are blazingly fast. I have no way to measure them, but comparing it to a Samsung T7 and the SanDisk Extreme, although all advertised at at 1000 Mb/sec, this little thing downloads an order of magnitude faster.I am using a MacBook Pro and this is the specially Mac formatted Crucial SSD version. The SanDisk was unreliable, would mount sometimes, not other times, and was of the slowest speeds. The Samsung is very reliable, slightly faster than SanDisk, but still of much slower speeds than this device. This device is far smaller than either, although all had the same 2 Tb capacity. This device has a footprint smaller than a credit card in both height and width (obviously not thickness). You could easily slide this into your pocket and not even feel it - smaller and less bulky than a car key.The front appears to be aluminum, the back rubberized so it stays put. This is an important feature given its small size and weight to not accidentally lose it.It comes with an indicator light - hard to see on the product images but hidden inside the lanyard mounting hole. This may sound silly but is important to me. Samsung has one, the SanDisk Extreme has not. That being the device that would not mount reliably, you never know what is going on without an indicator, I.e. is it still trying to mount or is it dead?No issue here with the Crucial device.All devices are advertised to be shock, dust and moisture resistant. Obviously I am not about to test either.Overall the Crucial X9 is the best SSD I have seen, especially for Macs, although they offer a generic not Mac specifically formatted version as well.Highly recommended. Well done!

The good: Fast to read and write. Compact size is great for travel to do back ups in the field. USB-C connection which is convenient.Not so good: This drive does not remember my sorting preference. On my other SSDs I can sort by file name or date and each time I load files, I can see the my preferred sorting preference. With the Crucal X9, I need to input my sorting preference each time I connect it.Will give 4 stars, but would be happier with 3 1/2 stars if I could. Will continue to use as this drive as a portable in-field back up and not for daily use.

This 4Tbyte solid state drive is perfect for my Mac Studio. It is tiny, reliable, quiet and fast. Set-up was a breeze and it’s been working flawlessly completing routine periodic back-ups of my system. I am a wildlife photographer and the Crucial serves as one of my photo library storage disks. I might buy another to use with my MacBook for extra file storage and back-up on the road. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Being well into my senior years, I am, by virtue of time, not a computer expert or anywhere close to one. In the past I've struggled with backup drives which required problems I couldn't conquer (FAT32???). Finally, here is a drive which was easy to setup and required nothing more than following simple directions. And it came with a 5-year warranty upon registration.This came pre-formatted for my Mac and was actually "Plug & Play." And it's SMALL ! My only niggle is the USB (C) connector cord is a few inches too short and really stiff, so locating this SSD is somewhat limited.But other than those minor items, it's a big BRAVO to Crucial for such a fine device.

I upgraded by photo storage to this portable SSD. The SSD is light weight, generates no noticeable heat, feels very durable and connect easily. I like the speedy response of the hard drive. It has worked flawlessly. Highly recommend.

Propriétaire d'un MacBook avec un stockage interne un peu serré, je cherchais une solution externe qui ne bride pas mes performances. Ce Crucial X9 Pro est une petite claque technique. On est loin des vieux disques durs externes encombrants.Vitesse et Utilisation :- Débits réels : Sur mon Mac, j'atteins des vitesses proches des 1000 Mo/s annoncés. C'est assez fluide pour faire du montage vidéo 4K directement depuis le SSD sur Final Cut Pro, sans aucun lag.- Plug & Play : Il est déjà pré-formaté pour Mac, donc on le branche et ça fonctionne instantanément. Rien à faire, c'est propre.- Chauffe : Même lors de gros transferts de fichiers (plus de 100 Go d'un coup), le boîtier en aluminium dissipe bien la chaleur. Il devient tiède, mais jamais brûlant.Design et Solidité :- Format ultra compact : Il est minuscule ! À peine plus gros qu'une carte de crédit et super léger. Il se glisse dans n'importe quelle poche de sacoche.- Résistance : La certification IP55 rassure énormément. Je n'ai pas peur de l'emmener en déplacement ou de le poser sur une table de café, il ne craint ni la poussière ni les petites éclaboussures.- Le petit anneau : Le trou pour l'accrocher à un mousqueton ou un porte-clés est un détail tout bête mais hyper pratique pour ne pas le perdre au fond du sac.Le petit bémol ?- Le câble USB-C fourni est un peu court. C'est top pour la portabilité avec un laptop, mais si vous voulez le brancher derrière un iMac ou une tour PC, il restera peut-être suspendu dans le vide.Verdict :C’est un investissement, mais la tranquillité d’esprit et la vitesse de travail valent chaque centime.
