Ok kit with some good bits, some bits a little cheap like the scissors and the knife but some other bits are great. Definitely worth it if you’re just getting started. You can upgrade bits as you go

Haven't used it properly yet, but kit looks good, everything a beginner should need . I did try the embossing tools on a thin soft leather however but they barely formed an imprint so I'm assuming a thicker harder leather would be more suited to using these tools. The kit bag itself makes for easy organised storage.

I have been using this leather kit for a few months now, and I have a good idea of what tools work the best for me personally. I use the groover, thread, needles, burnisher, stamps, awl, hammer, skiving knife, files, and leather thimbles every time I do a project. I found the exacto-type knife they include it very flimsy and doesn't cut through my leather well. Perhaps it would be better on lighter leathers. The edge beveler doesn't work well, BUT the groover has different attachments, including a beveler heads which work wonderfully, and I use that. The tread is nicely waxed and very thick, so it's good for projects needed heavy duty stitching. It would have been nice if they included smaller diameter thread as well, but they give a lot of heavy duty duty thread, so I can't complain. It's costly to buy individual tools when just starting out, and I think this is a good set to begin with for me. I have since bought smaller needles and thread to supplement this kit and will probably get a different beveler eventually. The tools don't stay in their little pockets well with transport, so I always put it in a bag if I move it. It's not fastened by elastic, but rather with two attached ribbons to tie.
