I swore by it to keep my 7 children clean, with a minimum of extra perfumes and chemicals. Yes, I did believe it was 99 percent pure! It was always in the supermarket, in bundles of four bars. Then, somehow, it disappeared, and a lot of times, due to travels for work, we had leftover hotel bars, and of course the children had grown up and weren't there any more! Recently, I had to perform medical procedure for my husband and Ivory soap was recommended. I was glad to find it on Amazon, and ordered two bars. I have to confess it seems somewhat different now. It doesn't have the smooth finish and texture of earlier days (and did I mention that children's art projects often started with a bar of Ivory Soap to carve -- so texture was important). It seemed a bit grainy but it worked just fine. Maybe from now on, when I need soap I'll use Ivory again.
